Mature workers and the workforce age gap crisis | Redesign Retirement
Australia has reached a population of over 22.3 million people with 11 million people currently employed. An Oxygen Network survey released Tuesday found that more than three out of four women said they'd choose the TV over a diamond solitaire necklace. Women preferred a top-of-the-line cellphone to designer shoes by a similar margin. And a little white iPod narrowly trumped a little black dress. These are among the results of the Girls Gone Wired survey by market researcher TRU for Oxygen. TRU surveyed 1,400 women and 700 men 15 to 49 years old to compare tech attitudes among the sexes. In the Oxygen survey, 59% of women agreed with the statement "Women are much more tech savvy than they give themselves credit for." ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Four trends in newspaper website navigation design | Journerdism
If your newspaper website has an awesome blog / article / section / multimedia piece / feature / whatever and no one knows it exists except for the members of your web staff that posted it, does it really exist? User navigation of news websites is perhaps the biggest problem for the publishing industry since Craig Newmark did what newspapers should have been doing for years. Lately I’ve noticed four consistent newspaper navigation designs emerging among websites and one solution I really think is a step in the right direction.   First, the two old school models: Vertical Navigation There’s still a lot of ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Facebook, Love It or Hate It, Changed the Game Forever
On Jan. 4, 2008, Colombian citizen Oscar Morales, tired of reading endless stories of kidnappings by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia ( FARC ), began a group on Facebook as a sign of opposition to the militant organization. Just one month later, the group, Un Millon de Voces Contra Las FARC , held a massive demonstration to voice its anger. An estimated 10 million Colombians participated. The Colombia demonstration was a shining example of what former senior editor at Fortune magazine David Kirkpatrick calls The Facebook Effect , the title of his new book. Selling a site re-design
A client of mine has a site I built back in 2002 - and it shows now. He still loves it - but then he's not exactly the most internet savvy person. In his profession especially, visual impressions are important to build trust. I think he needs a better looking site and I genuinely think that I could build a site that will get him more visitor conversions. I'm wondering how I should put this though. Yes, things date and standards move on but isn't it almost like saying that I didn't quite do a good enough job in the first place? How do you justify to clients why they should pay for a re-design of a site you ...

Make sure the old URLs continue to function, though, by having each old page 301-redirect to the best corresponding one in the new scheme. That way you won't lose the juice from external links and index entries. Chances are you will see a small drop in traffic while the change propagates, but if you do things right it will quickly pick up again. Google webmaster tools and Yahoo site explorer will both help inform the process. posted 2 months ago Online SEO Services India, Website Designing, Web development and Internet Marketing Solution Company India see all my answers In fact search engine crawlers are always looking for ...
