Marketing Hummers has become a tad difficult recently. The price of a barrel of West Texas Intermediate nearly doubled between the summers of 2007 and 2008 and automotive media budgets decreased more than 11 percent between the first halves of 2007 and 2008, marking 12 consecutive quarters of declining ad spending in this category. In this environment high CPMs aren’t going to cut it. Media buyers need to be aware of the most-efficient ways to target desired customer segments. Toward that end, here are a few tactics that can help automotive marketers stretch their digital media dollars and drive ROI. Ad exchanges connect web ...
This original definition excluded naturally occurring substances that kill bacteria but are not produced by microorganisms (such as gastric juice and hydrogen peroxide ) and also excluded synthetic antibacterial compounds such as the sulfonamides . Many antibiotics are relatively small molecules with a molecular weight less than 2000 Da . With advances in medicinal chemistry , most antibiotics are now semisynthetic —modified chemically from original compounds found in nature, as is the case with beta-lactams (which include the penicillins , produced by fungi in the genus Penicillium , the cephalosporins , and the carbapenems ). ...
How Behavioral Retargeting Could Save Yahoo
slow ad sales; Wall Street responded by forcing Yahoo stock down 11.2 percent. There’s been a flurry of speculation as to what went wrong, with suggestions ranging from launch delays in the Panama ad platform, to a trickle-down from woes in the financial and automotive sectors. And for what it’s worth, I think most of the speculations have real validity. But pointing to any one problem misses a crucial underlying issue that’s giving Yahoo trouble. That issue is the disconnect between Yahoo’s search engine and the Yahoo Publisher Network. Simply put, Yahoo’s hurting because its publisher side refuses to learn from its search side. market research, surveys and trends
why microhoo benefits the sem industry
Yesterday, I mentioned to my staff that I think it was a great day for our business, the search engine industry and for those companies who truly understand all aspects of search. From an industry point of view, the two-horse race is now on, and it will push both companies to stay innovative in the search arena. I often felt that if Microsoft didn’t fully get behind search marketing, it would be only a matter of time before Google was the only player in the space. And we always see a lack of innovation when this happens. Most companies feel are reliant on Google for the vast bulk of their ad spend, but that’s not the most ideal ... market research, surveys and trends

A Strong Appetite for Behavioral Search Targeting - ClickZ
Demographic and behavioral targeting were sufficiently interesting to marketers that advertisers, on average, would pay 11 percent more for both behavioral and demographic targeting, according to the "2007 SEMPO State of the Market Survey." The survey also finds that 57 percent of online advertisers polled were willing to spend more on demographic targeting, such as age and gender. While the survey doesn't overtly specify that the primary targeted behavior was prior search (so-called search retargeting), the questions likely had respondents referring to that practice. This is great news for search engines willing ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Remarketing: Online's Misunderstood Conversion Tool
Behavioral, geographic, and demographic targeting has become a taboo concept in some media circles. One particular tool -- behavioral targeting, also called remarketing or retargeting -- has been singled out for unfair criticism, despite its phenomenal success for advertisers brave enough to engage it as a conversion tool. Remarketing at its most basic level allows marketers to get in front of viewers who have already shown interest in a product or service by following them and showing ads for the product or service they initially eyed as they surf elsewhere on the Web. Remarketing 101 There has been hesitation to adopt ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Search Clicks, Once Removed
As a search engine marketer, you've already proved that the best clicks you can get are search clicks directly from the search engines. However, you've likely got an inventory shortage on clicks from your favorite sources: Google, Yahoo, and Bing (with Bing and Yahoo destined to cease having as much differentiation come the fall of 2010). Your inventory shortage can be driven by a variety of factors. There aren't enough searches for the keyword phrases you love most. There's a significant volume of searches, but you have competitors who either have very high capability to spend or high quality scores (perhaps ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
