“I started Better World Advertising (BWA) because I saw the power that social marketing could have in helping individuals, and society as whole, in solving issues that cause a lot of pain and suffering.  I still believe that getting information to people and delivering messages that motivate them to make better decisions has unlimited potential for good.” As said by Les Pappas, President & Creative Director of San Fransisco and New York based social advertising and marketing agency Better World Advertising . Regular visitors of Osocio know the work of BWA very well. Time to talk with BWA. In this new chapter of ...

No Proof SF DPH Serosorting Ads Improved Gay Health Silly me. I ...
Silly me. I expected the dozens of staffers at the city's AIDS Office and Better World Advertising who created a particular ad campaign in 2006 could easily answer some basic questions regarding their ads. But they can't, illustrating to me how it's business, and a publicly well-funded business, as usual. Throw ads at the homosexuals, get 'em upset, fatten ad agency coffers, never show verifiable evidence gay health is improved. -----Original Message----- Sent: Thu, 14 Feb 2008 12:14 pm Subject: SF DPH HIV serosorting ad campaign accomplishments requested Eileen Shields Public Information Officer ... market research, surveys and trends

Like many causes the issue of responsible drinking is a complex one when speaking about campaigning. Who is the target audience, who is responsible, what is the most effective way bringing the message? The Message In The Bottle is a video series about the issues around responsible choices (or a lack there of) with alcohol. Irresponsible drinking is the #1 cause of preventable death among Canadian youth. After decades of responsible drinking programs, why are students still not getting the message? Until recently there has been a narrow conception of nonprofit boards of directors, focused on their operational, oftentimes unfavorable, role as fiduciaries, authorizers and micromanagers.  Conversation about board governance has centered more on lists of dos and don’ts than around compelling or competing concepts of governance. Now, current board development best practices support the idea that effective boards must become a reflective community of interpretation where trustees can and do talk seriously about organizational purpose and the nature of governance. In their 2005 book, authors Richard P. Chait, PhD, ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Responding to growing concerns by users about privacy and increasing scrutiny from American and European regulators on that subject, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and chief executive of Facebook.com , discussed his company's core principles in an op-ed article last month in the Washington Post. Facebook, he wrote, was built around a few simple ideas: that "people want to share and stay connected with their friends and the people around them"; that if people have "control over what they share, they will want to share more"; and that "if people share more, the world will become more open and connected. Advertising: How important is an accredited degree in advertising ...
I'm currently enrolled in a private art school majoring in advertising.  The school that i go to is accredited, but due to long distance i have thought about transferring to a non credited school.  How important is to have an accredited degree and what exactly are the advantages, if any.  I heard that the only thing that really matters in the advertising world and getting a job is having a good portfolio, and that a degree is not even required as long as you have the skills and work to show your skills (portfolio).  Is this true? I would like to keep my options open and have the option to become a ...
