bike advertising trailer special research report Photo by
which we recently posted about, today’s post is dedicated to bike advertising.  With the spring and summer months creeping up, many business/bicycle-minded folks might be inspired to think about using bicycles for advertising businesses or services in the coming months.  Hopefully this post can serve as a reference and source of inspiration for such an undertaking. Advertising is essentially the art of persuasion.  Persuasion to purchase a particular product, use a specific kind of service, act a certain kind of way, and so forth.  Advertising in its purest form is intended to get people to buy something (as consumers) or ...

Schwinn Joyrider Bicycle Trailer Red/Gray Discount. | cadence5872136
This is my 2nd bike trailer, the first was an Instep brand. I hated it! I returned it- the main reason was the seats were TERRIBLE! My daughters were basically suspended from their crotches by the time we got done with our first (and last) ride. So the most important feature I was looking for when finding the Schwinn PR150 was comfortable seating…with which I am fully satisfied. These seats are big and cushy with comfortable harnesses. Other reasons I am happy with this purchase: -Easily converts to double stroller (includes wheel- no need to purchase seperate kit) -Cool updated look- a little newer than most trailers ... market research, surveys and trends » Blog Archive » Photo: A 'Don't Share the Road ...
A reader sent me an interesting photo via Twitter last week. The photo is of the license plate on a convertible BMW that was spotted in Northwest Portland. It shows an unintended use of Oregon's 'Share the Road' license plate... "Here's a thought - Use the sidewalk." (Photo: @r3v0lt on Twitter ) I wonder if the person who bought it knows that proceeds from the sale of these plates are shared between Cycle Oregon and the Bicycle Transportation Alliance . According to the BTA, for the 2009 fiscal year, they netted $12,300 in income from the plates. The money, which is unrestricted, was spent on ... market research, surveys and trends

The good news is that the share of all trips made by bicycle is up 25 percent since 2001, to one percent. The bad news is that even short trips are still dominated by privately owned vehicles, a category of vehicle that does not include bikes. Half of all trips are three miles or less, but fewer than 2 percent of those trips are made by bicycle, while 72 percent of them are driven. Private vehicles like cars, pick-up trucks, and SUVs, account for 60 percent of trips of a mile or less . Think about that next time you hear people wondering why we have such big problems with the environment, health and childhood obesity, and ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Roger Corman Speaks
I don’t think I like many of Roger Corman’s films, but after hearing him speak I definitely like his style. The master of low budget independent cinema gave a panel discussion at the Los Angeles Film Festival discussing his legendary career. He was joined by former protégés Joe Dante, Peter Bogdanovich, Peter Fonda and Curtis Hanson, and his wife Julie. Everything Corman said was a catch phrase of a lesson in the business. For what it’s worth, I asked the James Cameron question when they opened the panel to audience questions. Q: What crooked path to the film industry? Roger Corman: It was somewhat of ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
The Automobile's Forgotten Secret
The automobile’s potential is its greatest secret—an open secret and yet, it often seems, a forgotten one. The big SUV in my garage may occasionally make a 10-mile trip to Walmart or 2-mile run to the volunteer fire station when the siren sounds. But it has the potential—the size, the power, the range—to take me, my friends, and our bicycles over the mountain to a distant bike trail, or 1,100 miles with a load of furniture and books to my son’s house in Florida. A century ago, the gasoline-powered automobile revolutionized personal mobility. It did it so profoundly and swiftly as to make it a ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

hris Shirley is determined to teach me how to ride a bike. A friendly Davenport sophomore who sports a black turtleneck over a pair of tight-fitting womens jeans and a blue fanny pack in place of a belt, Shirley is one of the cofounders of the New Haven Bike Collective. The group, which is currently thinking of changing its name to Cyclismo, began last fall, with the aim of providing free bikes and bike repair training to local residents. Is it common for motor vehicle laws to have measurable thresholds ...
to "safe distance". Are there other motoring laws that cite a specific measurable distance, rather than a subjective term like "safe distance"? The City of Portland, OR, has installed bike boxes on a lot of the busy streets there. This may illustrate some of the thinking. This .pdf Also addresses, at some length, bike safety issues in the city. In practice for something like a passing law, three feet is subjective. It can't be measured before, during, or after the fact. Well, there are a handful of other states that have the "3 feet" law for passing cyclists. Or are you looking for other NY laws that use specific distances?
