*Google Streetview: Being Yelled At For Being 'Perfectly Honest ...
Flipping through the German blogosphere yesterday I came across a rather specialist IT-website which explained in length and at great detail why it is actually impossible to register the location on wireless networks  (WiFi, WLAN) without at the same also monitoring some of the user information (parts of emails, or websites etc: ‘ payload ‘) transmitted. The post by Kristian Köhntopp referred to the standard used for Wireless Networks ( IEEE Std 802.11 ) and (I hope I got that right) explained that due to the nature of wireless networks there are different types of information packages ( frames ) transmitted ... market research, surveys and trends

How many advertisers backed out of MySpace last week after it revealed it had deleted the profiles of 29,000 known sex offenders -- more than four times the number originally suspected -- from its site? Not a single one. Julie Henderson, senior VP-corporate communications at MySpace parent Fox Interactive Media, said a few concerned marketers called when the news came out but were placated when told MySpace had deleted those 29,000 profiles. Ms. Henderson also pointed out that 29,000 out of 180 million registered users is one-thousandth of a percent. Of course, this number doesn't account for offenders savvy enough to ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Should The East Village "Blog Mafia" Really Be Out To "Stop" The New York ...
its hyperlocal blog covering New Jersey, but its collaborative online journalism venture in the East Village is about to begin. It's called The Local East Village, and much like The Times' Fort Greene and Clinton Hill Local blogs, the project, which was announced in February and launches later this summer, will be a joint effort between the Grey Lady, graduate journalism students at NYU (the Times' Brooklyn sites are partnered with CUNY's j-school ), and neighborhood residents acting as citizen journalists. In other words, the East Village benefits from getting a new platform for in-depth coverage of local ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

» Advertising in Reverse ProjectVRM
Technically an RFP is a “buyer-initiated procurement protocol” for businesses doing business with businesses: B2B as they say. With VRM the buyer is an individual. Hence, Personal RFP. Not a great label, but one that businesses understand. Now comes Scott Adams (Dilbert’s cartoonist), with Hunter Becomes the Prey . His compressed case: Shopping is broken… Google is nearly worthless when shopping for items that don’t involve technology. It is as if the Internet has become a dense forest where your desired purchases can easily hide. Advertising is broken too, because there are too many products ...

Is there a vocal anti-caffeine group, similar to the Straight Edge movement/ True Love Waits/ AA / Vegans/ er.. Pro-Lifers*?, etc.-- that specifically focuses on caffeine? *(LMAO-- okay, Pro-lifers was a bad example. "I used to have an abortion every day! couldn't leave the house without one.") I'm a caffeine junkie through and through; I'm not trying to quit, and I don't suspect that I ever will-- that's not why I'm asking (I've historically taken the "do it or stop" view when it comes to any sort of chemical, and have never had a problem "trying" to quit anything. but who cares?).
