REVIEWS AND OPINIONS
Change is hard and frightening. Especially in marketing.
I’ve been thinking lately about how businesses hang on to their old ways of communicating and advertising recently. I’m going to tell you what I think first, and then I’ll tell you why. I think that while we social media enthusiasts think everybody “gets it”, there are incredible numbers of businesses that don’t. They don’t understand social media and new communication tools; they don’t think they’re “serious”; they think they’re not part of a legitimate business. And I don’t think it’s an Ottawa problem; Chicago-based Gini Dietrich talked about ... market research, surveys and trends
Crescimbeni takes aim at lobbyists' influence on land use in ...
Politics and lobbying always have been an undercurrent in the decision-making process for land-use changes in Jacksonville. Councilman John Crescimbeni said he will work this year to make them less so. As the new chairman of the council’s Land Use and Zoning Committee, Crescimbeni is now the gatekeeper on new developments in the city. An active environmentalist, he said he’ll use his new political muscle to ensure that everyone affected in zoning decisions, from those who asked for changes to those who are opposed, are given a voice during the process. Bus Shelter Advertising Debate headed to City Council | Metro ...
I disagree.  These shelters are also located in areas of low density in and around these communities and they look fine and more attractive than anything we currently have here in town.  On top of this, their transit users are also protected from the elements, which enhances their system's overall usability.  I'll upload a few images later this afternoon of shelters in suburban areas. August 12, 2009, 08:40:11 AM Ok.  On this one, trust me.  The city needs bus shelter far more than it needs some misplaced, grossly oversized devotion to the notion of "No Camel Noses Under the Tent. Bus Shelter Meeting in Town Hall Examines Proposal
The meeting was headed by Laura Wiener, senior planner of Arlington's Department of Planning and Community Development, and Selectman Clarissa Rowe, who worked on a similar project – though on Boston's larger stage – years ago. Rowe made it clear from the beginning, "Arlington has a long history of badly maintained, badly visible bus stops." According to research conducted by the MBTA for this project, Arlington has 11 bus routes, containing 163 stops (only five of which currently have shelters – most unsanitary, some handicap inaccessible), playing host to 7,600 riders daily.
