Magazine Advertising – Tips to get the most for your advertising ...
The general rule that you can run the same ad 3-5 times within a campaign period before its appeal lessens applies to magazine advertisin g as well, even with a monthly publication. So it makes sense to spend extra time and money to prepare a worthwhile ad that can be successfully repeated. Over long terms such as these, however, be aware that the client (you) often tires of the ad before the audience does. Because ads in magazines are not immediate, they take more planning. Often, an ad for a monthly magazine must be prepared between one to three months in advance of publication, so ads detailing prices and items must be ... market research, surveys and trends
Learning From Failures: IMVU Founder Will Harvey (Part 7 ...
WH: It was our parents. We figured they could not turn us down. It was not a great form of validation, but it was a good form of invalidation. We found out just how hard it was at that time to build a full product and customer experience from beginning to end. We underestimated the degree of difficulty it was to collect credit card information and provide software download that had user support. SM: Did you meet the $300 goal? WH: We made the $300 goal the first month, and then $330 the second month. We were able to sell the software for $25, but it was harder than we thought it would be. All of us got more pushback than we ... market research, surveys and trends

Google Answers: Newspaper Advertising --- Cheap!
Hi There! I need to advertsise (display ads, not classifieds) in newspapers. But I don't know what I am doing. I found a web site ( which will place newspaper ads at 50%-80% off retail. Being a cheapskate, I was impressed ! Apparently, MSS specializes in "standby rates" or "remnant rates." When the newspaper is just a few hours from being printed, there are often "holes" where additional ads can be placed. If you (as the small business advertiser) have your ad already at the paper and ready to go, you get a huge discount. The downside, of course, is that there is no guarantee your ...
Online advertising - how does one get it? | Ask MetaFilter

I notice that even some "amateur" sites like have "proper" ads (American Apparel in particular seems to get about on these sites). How do they get the ads? I have some friendly ex-colleagues who work in ad sales. Is it worthwhile asking them to ...
