Future of Video Advertising

future of video advertising special research report Photo by blip.tv
Even five years in the future aggregate advertising spending will be smaller than it was in last year. We project total advertising revenues of $245 billion in 2013 as compared to $285 billion in 2008. Internet advertising will gain share from 8% to 22%. The Great Recession of 2009 is leading sponsors to radically change long-held assumptions about the use of media in marketing and advertising. In short, advertisers will face new competition from their own sponsors as sponsors intensify use of Internet media as a direct channel to their customers. They will allocate a greater share of marketing budgets to enriching their own ...
Throughout the band's existence, Fältskog and Ulvaeus were a married couple, as were Lyngstad and Andersson - although both couples later divorced. They became one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, and they topped the charts worldwide from 1972 to 1983. ABBA gained international popularity employing catchy song hooks , simple lyrics , sound effects ( reverb , phasing ) and a Wall of Sound achieved by overdubbing the female singers' voices in multiple harmonies. As their popularity grew, they were sought after to tour Europe, Australia, and North America, drawing crowds of ardent ...

FUTURE OF VIDEO ADVERTISING

The future of video advertising: The lady or the tiger? | VentureBeat
Much has been said, hoped and wished for when it comes to video advertising. Its proponents argue that it has the potential to become a multi-billion industry. But its detractors claim that the combination of limited efficacy, a dearth of inventory, high costs of production, and low CPMs (cost per thousand views) are holding it back from becoming a viable form of advertising.      So who’s right? There’s convincing evidence on both sides. Supporters of video advertising usually point to Hulu  as a shining example of monetization done right, while opponents underscore Google’s persistent and unsuccessful efforts ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Where's the AdSense of Audio and Video?
By giving anyone and everyone the power to automatically attach advertisements to their web sites, Google AdSense has become ubiquitous over the last three years. What Google hasn’t done is syndicate contextual ads for user-generated rich media on such a large scale, leaving that opportunity up for grabs. Everyone knows that advertising on non-professional rich media is a big opportunity, but nobody’s making a bundle off it yet. But Google will surely be motivated by spending $1.6 billion on YouTube. Yahoo today (prior to announcing lower-than-expected sales for the quarter) announced two related investments: the purchase (for ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Not so fresh from a 12-hour flight to San Diego, I cab it from the airport to the city's Convention Centre, a vast downtown hangar the size of a good five or six Millennium Falcons (to use the standard Comic-Con measurement system). The evening is pink and dusky, the cherry-red trams are rattling past the jazzy Gaslamp Quarter and the streets are heaving with convention-goers lugging their potato-sack-sized Batman swag bags back to their ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Video on the Internet briefly promised us a cultural future of decentralized production and daring changes in form–even beyond dancing kittens and laughing babies.  Yet recent developments on sites like YouTube, Hulu, and Fancast as well as research about how audiences watch online video both suggest a retrenchment of structures from the old “mass media” system rather than anything daring.  In this talk I’ll argue that choices about the distribution infrastructure for video will determine whether all our future screens will be the same. **************************************** Talk Outline as Prepared  [These are ROUGH ...

Do you think video resumes are the future of job search ...
Thank you all for your responses. There are some interesting perspectives shared here (e.g. that this won't go beyond certain industries, that this initially could replace a face-to-face meeting). As a clarifying point, I am not suggesting that video resume will stand alone, nor do I believe they necessarily need to include a voice over or image of you talking through your credentials. I agree that some folks are camera shy, and this would not make a good first impression. I had a test group of recruiters/HR specialists provide input into my resume, with the end goal of achieving certain key objectives. I discuss those in ...
Future Google Results and Video
Someone at Pubcon made the statement that, in the near future, sites that don't have video may find themselves losing ranking pretty fast to sites that do. I've heard the newfound importance of video echoed in some recent posts and I was curious as to who believes this statement. Funny you should bring up this topic. Just an hour ago I noticed one SERP where video now appears and it didn't before. In this case it pushed a competitor off page 1, but it could just as well have been my client's site. So many people find reading difficult - especially online but even otherwise - that I'm pretty sure ...
