Thank you all for your responses. There are some interesting perspectives shared here (e.g. that this won't go beyond certain industries, that this initially could replace a face-to-face meeting). As a clarifying point, I am not suggesting that video resume will stand alone, nor do I believe they necessarily need to include a voice over or image of you talking through your credentials. I agree that some folks are camera shy, and this would not make a good first impression.
