Ending Prescription Drug Ads at Jon Taplin's Blog
You can thank Ronnie and his deregulatory economists for the flood of erectile-disfunction ads on TV. In 1988 there was a total of $7 million spent on Direct to Consumer (DTC) prescription drug ads. Things have changed since then . In 2008, pharmaceutical manufacturers spent about $4.8 billion on direct-to-consumer television, radio, magazine and newspaper advertising, according to Nielsen Media Research. Now some lawmakers including Jerrold Nadler of New York are suggesting that the drug industry no longer get to deduct their DTC ad expenses from their taxes. Personally, I think they should not be allowed to advertise at all, ... market research, surveys and trends

Georgia Education: University System of Georgia Fall Enrollment ...
When the University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents adopted a new strategic plan in August 2007, the plan predicted an additional 100,000 students enrolling in Georgia’s 35 public colleges and universities by 2020. The numbers in the board’s fall 2008 enrollment report, released today, show the system is on track to reach and perhaps surpass that prediction, with a record 282,978 students. And 46,711 of those students this fall are first-time freshmen. This group increased 9.6 percent over fall 2007 and is evidence of the increasing demand on public higher education resources by Georgians. Political ad junkies, this fall's for you
At the height of the special US Senate election campaign in January, it was nearly impossible to watch television for more than seven minutes without seeing a pitch for or against Scott Brown or Martha Coakley. The truncated Senate race created one of the most intense political advertising seasons the state has ever seen, with so much money pouring into local stations from around the country that some commercial breaks featured two, three, or four spots in a row placed by the two candidates or outside groups with a rooting interest. Viewers beware: Some media and political industry professionals say the lead-up to this ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Google Answers: American advertising in the media
Hello Brophy-ga, Thank you for your question. Consumers are exposed to hundreds of commercial messages per day in one form or another -- from the boring, copy-laden radio commercial to the easily skimmed, forgettable newspaper ad, and from the billboard on the side of the bus to the logo on the side of the building. My search returned the following results for the number of advertising messages an average American is exposed to on a daily basis. The source and corresponding links for the information I gathered are included: “The average American is exposed to 247 commercial messages each day.” Consumer ...
WikiAnswers - How do you get a job in advertising or marketing
Advertising and marketing is a wide field. An undergraduate degree in business might be enough to get you started in certain lines.
