in which a view of reality is modified (possibly even diminished rather than augmented) by a computer. As a result, the technology functions by enhancing one’s current perception of reality. In the case of Augmented Reality, the augmentation is conventionally in real-time and in semantic context with environmental elements, such as sports scores on TV during a match. With the help of advanced AR technology (e.g. adding computer vision and object recognition ) the information about the surrounding real world of the user becomes interactive and digitally usable. Artificial information about the environment and the objects in it ...

» Garmin Oregon 300 Portable GPS System Sale-$399.00! marg3041788
I bought the Garmin Oregon 300 after owning a Garmin eTrex Legend CX for the last year or two. Alhough initially sceptical of the touch screen, it actually works well. I like the menu system too. My main criticism of the Oregon is the fact that the screen (at max brighness) is not nearly as bright as the Legend screen. The Oregon screen is almost invisible in bright light, even when the screen itself is shaded. This is a significant issue in Australia. My other critism is that the customisation of the navigation screen is limited, with one fixed field at the top and only 2 adjustable fields (Legend has up to 4 adjustable ... market research, surveys and trends

Top 5 Picks from the 2010 Ski and Snowboard Industry Trade Show ...
each year. Backcountry Access is the first U.S. company to introduce an airbag a user can inflate when an avalanche begins, hopefully giving users enough flotation to stay on top of the sliding snow. Even with good skills and the best avalanche gear available, digging someone out of tons of avalanche debris before they run out of air is very, very difficult--and it only helps if the victim survived the initial blunt trauma. So these systems are a huge advance in safety. Backcountry Access introduced its Float 30 in the fall and has sold 2000 units far, according to the company. “Simply hailed as RFID “virtual walls,” the creation enables venues to “track tagged mobile medical equipment down to a portion of a single room.” By providing sub-room-level distinction, personnel can locate hardware within a monitored area as tiny as 6- x 8-feet, and although it’ll likely be used to locate cardiac defibrillators and portable ultrasound machines, patients could theoretically be tracked, too.”   Engadget    Post in Uncategorized    Add a comment Novelties – The Magnifying Glass Gets an Electronic Twist “Sturdy desktop video-based ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
We were unable to assign it a score, however, since Sony Ericsson sent us a unit with unfinished and buggy software. Now, the Xperia is available at a subsidized price ($150 with a two-year contract from AT&T) and ships with the finished software. After refamiliarizing myself with the Xperia X10 , I still feel unsure about it. Though I loved the phone's hardware and camera, the software was painfully slow at times. And faced with shortcomings such as the absence of multitouch and the outdated Android 1.6 OS, I can't recommend the X10 over other high-end Android phones. Elegant Design The X10's design unmistakably ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Droid 2 review
still looks and feels thoroughly modern -- after all, it set a pretty high benchmark for the upper end of Android's product portfolio when it launched late last year, and Motorola has managed to keep it updated through two major revisions of the platform along the way (in fact, it's still just one of a very few devices running Froyo commercially at this point). That said, it's got a handful of minor design flaws, none of which are really showstoppers in and of themselves but add up to make the phone a little less enjoyable to use than it could've been. That's where the Droid 2 comes in: a phone ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Ask Engadget: Best outdoor GPS device? -- Engadget
surrounding those petite navigators that stay safely within the confines of your vehicle, but it's about time we broke it back out for the argonauts in attendance. We'll let Tyler take it from here: "I'm an avid hiker, and I'm looking to get a new outdoor-centric navigator that can withstand the elements and last a good while without a charge. I'm particularly interested in getting one with extra features like a trip logger and multimedia player, but obviously I'm trying to spend the least amount while not sacrificing usability. Any other outdoorsy individuals have any advice?" Once ...
what is the best portable GPS map device out there
For automotive GPS I would recommend either the Magellan Roadmate range or the Garmin Streetpilot or Garmin Nuvi range. There are a full range of pricepoints in each of these model ranges. The Garmin Nuvi range has a search feature that will take you to your nearest McDonalds or whatever. You go through a simple menu that you are looking for food, then take-away food, then fast-food, or chineese or whichever type you are looking for. Look for a model that has 'bluetooth' which will allow it to connect to a cell phone for making hands-free calls through the unit. It will even dial the place you are looking to go. These ...
