Tracking PPC Campaigns in Google Analytics
We're chewing over how best to track our pay-per-click advertising campaigns (AdWords, Overture, AdCenter etc etc) using Google Analytics for our e-commerce site. The in-bound links all land on /ppc.cfm?id=#*$! which immediately 301s to the real store page. We do this so we can change the final destination of an advert without changing the URL on the pay-per-click system. We were appending UTM_source and UTM_medium information to the ppc.cfm URL, but this wasn't every showing up in Analytics because it was thrown away when the 301 took place.
