Google Finally Links AdWords To DoubleClick; Launches Ad Exchange ...
Google is ready to fully leap into the display ad market, arguing it can do for that category what it has done for search. Ever since its $3.1 billion acquisition of DoubleClick two years ago, Google ( NSDQ: GOOG ) has promised to make it easy to manage both search and display sales in one place. But the launch comes a few weeks after Google lost two key DoubleClick execs , former Ad Exchange VP Michael Rubenstein and former DoubleClick CEO David Rosenblatt, who were charged with driving that business; sources say their work was largely done. Google's Q3: $5.94 billion, 7 Percent YoY Revenue Growth, 14 ...
Expectations were high for Google’s Q3 given some of the positive reports coming out about clicks and search volumes from third parties such as Efficient Frontier and comScore. Even though Google performed solidly (almost $6 billion in a still-bad economy) there may be some disappointment on Wall Street (apparently not). Google’s Eric Schmidt said “The worst of the recession is behind us.” He added, “We’re very pleased with the third quarter.” Google apparently did better than consensus estimates and so “beat the street.” Shares are now up in after-hours trading. Google Spills Display Beans at Barbecue
ADOTAS – Secretly I was hoping I’d show up at Google’s burgers and display event at Chelsea Market and be led to a rooftop where CEO Eric Schmidt – complete with chef’s hat, plaid shorts and “Google the Cook” apron — was manning a grill packed with ground chuck. “Cheese?” he’d ask while cofounder Sergey Brin passed me a cold one. Alas, I walked into a conference room, certainly a nice one, and the burgers were served by sassy caterers. Still, the company was quite notable – Barry Salzman, the DoubleClick veteran who recently took the role of managing director of media and platforms, sat next to me and was very ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Google revamps DoubleClick exchange
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) Google Inc announced a major overhaul of the DoubleClick ad exchange it acquired last year, an important step in the Internet search giant's plan to extend its advertising business into the market for graphical, display ads. Ad exchanges play an increasingly important role in the Internet ad ...
