Sasco Ghost Town in Arizona
Arizona, while a state primarily known for its phenomenal geology and scenic drives, also boasts some fascinating history in the form of its ghost towns. Sasco is an important example of an Arizona ghost town because so many of its ruins are still visible. Although it may require a four-wheel-drive vehicle to get there, and there will be lots of evidence of recent paint-ball parties, this ghost town has all the aura ghost hunters are after. Sasco, an acronym for the Arizona Smelting Company, was once home to about six hundred people. The community, founded in the early 1900s, featured the smelting company, a post office, a ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
VQR » Life on the Line: The Arizona-Mexico Border
Eduardo saw Jesus coming with His holy light. It was winter, and for days, lost in a strange land, Eduardo had been wandering through mountains with nothing to eat and nothing to drink except what he could scoop from puddles of melted snow. He barely slept, trembling from a cold like none he’d experienced in Guatemala, a cold that bit through his thin clothes. At dusk of his fifth day in the desert, as he stumbled across a valley bristling with cactus, he made out some boxy shapes in the gathering darkness. Houses! The first he’d seen since crossing the Arizona border. He staggered ahead, just yards from warmth and safety, but, ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

For those that weren't satisfied with seeing the Southwest pass by through glass windows, there was an option. Not only could you get away from it all, but you could live out a fantasy, sample some down home hospitality, and, for a little while at least, become a real live cowpoke. Rassling a calf to brand, riding off into the sunset, and eating huge "ranch-style" meals were just some of the pleasures awaiting the visitor of a dude ranch. The cowboy was already becoming a folk hero by the turn of the century and America yearned for the days of the Old West. In the 1880s, travelers wandered the West to see ...

I'm going to Arizona in February or March. What will the weather ...
I'm an Asian, not used to cold weather. What kind of clothes should I bring? My trip is work related, but I will have one weekend to my own. I love all the cowboy stuff, and plan to visit Tombstone. Is this a good place to go? How far is it from Chandler? I will probably be staying at the Holiday Inn. Can anyone suggest what are other good places to visit on a moderate budget during the weekend? I'll be given a car so driving wont be a problem. As others have noted, the Phoenix-Chandler area never gets much of a winter. A typical clear day will have a high in the 50s or 60s. We do get occasional winter storms ...
