Business ethics in Italy

business ethics in italy special research report Photo by
Much has been written about stakeholder analysis as a process by which to introduce ethical values into management decision-making. This paper takes a critical look at the assumptions behind this idea, in an effort to understand better the meaning of ethical management decisions. A distinction is made between stakeholder analysis and stakeholder synthesis. The two most natural kinds of stakeholder synthesis are then defined and discussed: strategic and multi-fiduciary. Paradoxically, the former appears to yield business without ethics and the latter appears to yield ethics without business. The paper concludes by suggesting that ...
of the 20th century - , Maffettone translated from English to Italian, defined the focus on the philosophical problems that were to become the permanent themes of his life-long research. Since then, he never put aside Rawls’ work and theoretical model, which by no doubt was the most deepest source of philosophical education, and taught Rawls to generations of Italian and foreign students ..
Crawl Across the Ocean: 58. Politics
Normally, I shun abridged versions of all manner, but after making my way through the 300+ pages of what seemed like a single, long, rambling train of thought, I might make an exception for 'Politics' if I ever decide to read it again. 'Politics' is mostly an investigation into what makes the best form of government, with consideration for other proposals from thinkers who came before Aristotle, and a wealth of detailed consideration of everything from the difference between democracy and oligarchy to the proper age at which men and women should marry (37 and 18, respectively, in case you were wondering). ... market research, surveys and trends

To more and more European companies, the Mediterranean area is seen becoming attractive in terms of commercial outlets, cost-effectiveness and partnership opportunities. This is one of the key outcomes of an A. T. Kearney research carried out in May 2009 on “geographical changes in delocalization”, which stated that the difference in workforce prices is now in favour of MED countries, as Eastern Europe gradually becomes more expensive and less attractive.   Despite some cyclical difficulties, the UfM (Union for the Mediterranean) project, launched in 2008 by President Sarkozy, is the most recent step of an economic ... market research, surveys and trends

OnlineAthens: Business: Carroll: Business ethics take Italian turn ...
In early June I returned from Milan, Italy where I had been invited to guest lecture on the subject of business ethics to Italian business managers. In addition to speaking in an executive program, I was invited to participate in a seminar and press conference open to the public. It was encouraging to learn Italy is moving in the direction of business ethics education, and I was honored to be invited to present my thoughts and discuss business ethics with them. Italy is not particularly well known for its business ethics, though it is a proud and noble country and one of my personal favorites in Europe. In the past couple of ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

93 percent of CEOs see sustainability as important to their company’s future success. This is one of the most significant headlines of our survey of 766 United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) member CEOs, extensive interviews with an additional 50 member CEOs and further interviews with more than 50 business and civil society leaders. Demonstrating a visible and authentic commitment to sustainability is especially important to CEOs because it is part of an urgent need to regain and build trust from the public and other key stakeholders, such as consumers and governments—trust that was shaken by the recent ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Debates over journalistic ethics aside, rides remain expensive to construct, and because of that frequently survive past their natural lifespans. How would you evaluate business ethics in the USA today? - Yahoo ...
This is quite a loaded question... there are companies that are unethical (Bernie Madoff, AIG, Enron, Tyco), and there are companies that are ethical (Starbucks, Microsoft...). With higher regulation by government, especially over financial reporting with Sarbanes-Oxley, businesses feel the weight of being watched constantly and have less incentive to act unethically. It does, however, backfire when the ethical companies are punished with higher, costlier regulations due to unethical companies. I work in Sarbanes-Oxley 4 months ago 100% 1 Vote There are currently no comments for this question. * You must be logged into ...
