regarding the increasing cost of Post Secondary tuition hit close to home.  In the article, it is projected that a child born today going to University 18 years from now would face a cost of over $100,000 for a typical 4 year program.  To add salt to the wound, the $100,000 is for a child who lives at home – it could cost over $130,000 for the students who move away. As Baby FT was born in 2008, I assume the projections for the cost of University will be fairly close to what the article states.  As we started an RESP in 2008, will it be enough to fund Post Secondary Education? We decided to use the RESP program ...
in December, 2007 and is said to have ended in early 2010, although the effects of this downturn are still being widely felt by millions of Americans. It spread to much of the industrialized world , and has caused a pronounced deceleration of economic activity. This global recession has been taking place in an economic environment characterized by various imbalances and was sparked by the outbreak of the financial crisis of 2007–2010 . Although the late-2000s recession has at times been referred to as "the Great Recession ," this same phrase has been used to refer to every recession of the several preceding decades. 1 ...

How Solid are the BRICs? (Part 2) | AdvisorAnalyst Views
Feb. 3, 2008 – The nature of the economic strength and stability of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) countries is a less well known or understood fact among investors. There remains a wide gap between perceptions and reality. Remember 1997 and 1998 ? Many investors, excited about the growth of Asian and emerging countries in the late nineties and invested their money found out about credit related risk first when the 1997 ‘Asian Contagion’ occurred and was followed upon by the Long Term Capital Management bailout which unfolded in 1998. These events destabilized global markets and investors were taken by ... market research, surveys and trends

Analysts: Changing Fed View, Dom Factors Weigh On Mex Peso, C$
NEW YORK (MNI) - Shifting Federal Reserve expectations, i.e. that the Fed may put off tightening until well into 2011 or even 2012, has led to widespread selling of U.S. dollars, and given the close U.S. economic link, selling of Canadian dollars and Mexican pesos in recent sessions, analysts said. Up until Wednesday, both the loonie and the peso had been hit hard by risk aversion as well as unwinds of long-held positions (euro shorts versus emerging market and commodity currency longs) in the past few days, they said. Dollar-Canada rose from the June 21 lows near C$1.0133 to the highs near C$1.0677 Monday. At the same ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
