Our original mission was to provide Biblical studies and religious education courses to public high school in Commerce as a �Release Time� ministry. Students from Commerce High School would attend classes at the Christian Education Center during the school day. To protect the depositors, the FDIC entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with Northeast Georgia Bank, Lavonia, Georgia, to assume all of the deposits of Freedom Bank of Georgia.
