Custom House goes to auction

custom house goes to auction special research report Photo by
Was it auction fever or media madness? A property put up for auction in the ailing Nantucket market today — no minimum bid, no reserve — sold for $5.2 million. The vacation home, known as the Second Glance, had been just another wall flower in the ailing Nantucket real estate market until Grand Estates Auction turned it into the belle of the ball with a marketing blitz that struck a balance between desperation and devil-may-care confidence: The seller doesn’t really need to sell, but really, he’d just rather not carry two vacation homes on the island. If it goes for one million dollars, so be it , Paul C. ...
Crystal Michael Jackson Glove Sells for $190K |
Bidders from around the world bought up Michael Jackson memorabilia worth nearly $1 million at an auction on the anniversary of his death, including $190,000 for the Swarovski-crystal-studded glove he wore on his 1984 Victory Tour. The bidding that began Friday on more than 200 items was "unlike anything we've ever experienced," said Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions, which ran the auction at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Some items, like the glove, brought 10 times more than their estimated value, he said. "It just shows you Michael Jackson is the most sought after and most collectible celebrity of ... market research, surveys and trends
Letters for July 7 | Bryan/College Station, Texas - The Eagle
I recall a letter saying the Brazos Animal Shelter should not accept stray animals from more rural surrounding counties. As a resident of Robertson County who has brought in stray animals and also made donations to the Brazos Animal Shelter, I say fine, but only if the residents of Brazos County can guarantee me that residents of Bryan and College Station will not drive into surrounding counties to dump their unwanted pets. It appears to me that we are all in this together. I also suggest that the name of a new shelter be changed to Brazos Valley Animal Shelter. Treasuries Set for Second Weekly Loss Before Confidence Figures ...
March 12 (Bloomberg) -- Treasuries headed for a second weekly loss before an industry report that analysts said will show U.S. consumer confidence rose in March as the economy improved, helping spur demand for higher-yielding assets. U.S. government securities fell this month after Greece implemented measures to reduce the European Union’s largest budget deficit. The Treasury Department sold $74 billion of three-, 10- and 30-year debt this week as President Barack Obama borrows record amounts to sustain the economic revival. “Yields will go up later this year,” said Takashi Yamamoto, chief trader in Singapore ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Remembering Rev. Jerry Louder
An excerpt from a speech given by Cheryl Brown about Rev. Louder for receiving a Spirit of Greatness Award during the R.O.C. dinner in 1999 There is a joke that is told by a local minister that deals with the way different cultures look at the same thing. In the Anglo community you know a story is a fairy tale when it begins with, “Once Upon A Time.” Well if it’s where I come from the story begins with “GIRL, YOU AIN’T GOIN’ TO BELIEVE THIS BUT …. .” Well you aren’t going to believe this but once upon a time, in deep dark Africa, there were two families who were of royal blood. They were each raising their children and as custom ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

What happens when a house for sale goes into foreclosure? - Yahoo ...
My husband and I have been looking at a brand new custom home (it's beautiful) in a new and developing community. The home was listed as a "short sale/awaiting foreclosure" but the real estate company was handling it and the signs were up in the front yard. What happens if the house goes into foreclosure? Does the price drop even more? Can it be bought at that point? It is a 450,000 home already marked down to 300,000. What do you all think? 1 year ago (Tiebreaker) No, we won't work w/ a realtor. My dad will do all the negotiating. We honestly weren't wanting to move so quickly but this is a ...
How to market/sell a Pimped-out Car | Ask MetaFilter
I recently purchased a 1994 Chevy Caprice, police car, from an auction house for $750, had it pimped out with boat speakers on the back, two amplifiers and subwoofer in the trunk, inverter to run AC appliances in the car, etc. etc. basically put $3,000 worth of both parts and labor into it. It is even equipped to mount a video projector on the dashboard Someone from the show Pimp My Ride even worked on it, so the system design is pretty flawless. Here is an image: + Now its time to sell it, but I don't know how to market an otherwise cheap car for the price it is worth ($3,900+) and get a buyer. Its such a niche thing, most ...
