“BFF” Effort Launched to Recruit New Employers to Delaware
Innovative Business Finder’s Fee (BFF) Tax Credits Could Turn Hundreds of Delaware Companies into a Sales Team for the State. Bill has Bi-partisan Support Markell: “This incentive could get more people to work to get more Delawareans working. It makes financial sense for our budget, economic sense for our families and common sense for our future.” Dover – A bipartisan effort to bring new businesses to Delaware would turn many existing employers into a sales force for the state by offering them incentives for any new jobs they help bring here, Governor Jack Markell announced today. Markell's agents slams Moyer Acadmey
So John Taylor thinks that sending these children, who have been in the unique environment of Moyer, to a regular public school is in their best interest? I think he is dead wrong. I’ve never heard anyone say that these children didn’t progress at Moyer — just that they didn’t make the Delaware standard, which is bogus in the first place. Theo Gregory should have been fired and the ineffective Moyer board should have been dismissed, but the state board should not have closed the school and shoved those students into an unfamiliar environment in which their chance for success is likely deminished. ... market research, surveys and trends

Summer bummer: Tough job market for Delaware teens
"Nobody gave me a call. Nobody," the 16-year-old junior at A.I. du Pont High School said. "It makes you want to give up. But you can't do that." The same thing is happening this year. And it's happening for a number of reasons. Unemployed adults are continuing to settle for low-wage jobs, making it difficult for teens to take their first step into the work force. Some employers say teens are less reliable than more seasoned workers, especially as they try to stretch their labor dollars during the recession. And local governments have had to cut back hiring because of tight budgets. The toll on teens ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

What did Sen. Barbara Boxer do that offended Harry Alford of the ...
In an Environment and Public Works hearing today, National Black Chamber of Commerce CEO Harry Alford accused Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) of being a racist. Alford, an opponent of the Waxman-Markey American Clean Energy and Security Act, attacked Boxer for being “racial” when she cited the NAACP’s support of clean energy and climate legislation. Saying he took “offense as an African American and a veteran,” he asked why she didn’t quote an “Asian” instead: Madam chair, that is condenscending [sic] to me. I’m the National Black Chamber of Commerce, and you’re trying to put up some other black group to pit against me. . . . All ...
24 Low-Cost Ways To Promote Your Business
An acquaintance of mine who changes "businesses" about as often as a teenager changes clothes recently sent me a postcard announcing his latest venture: Internet Business Consulting. He was, his announcement proclaimed, ready to help businesses set up Web pages to do business on the Internet. This was the individual's third business in two years. Previous ventures included selling advertising specialties and starting a niche-market magazine, neither of which were successful. Remarkably, this gentleman had only learned how to use a computer and modem a couple of ...
