NEW JERSEY & MALLS: PERFECT TOGETHER | North America > United ...
As the most densely populated state in the nation, and with the nation's number one per capita total personal income (about $39,000), New Jersey has its share of enclosed malls and other shopping centers. Each month, approximately six million adults visit the state's various centers and last year, nearly $30.5 billion was contributed to the local economy, as a result. While Internet and catalog sales threatened to chip away at profits, the industry has remained strong because, for one reason, people enjoy going to the mall. Rahway relaunches dormant chamber of commerce
— More than a decade after the Rahway Chamber of Commerce shut down, a relaunched chamber is on a new recruiting drive and aims to establish itself as an advocate for small businesses who can’t afford the dues of the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce. The chamber shut down 10 years ago after losing volunteers to the Rahway Center Partnership, according to chairman Bob Markey, a Rahway real estate agent who helped found the chamber in the late 1970s. “Our goal is simple,” Markey wrote in a June issue of “Our Town,” a chamber publication. “Help business to grow and prosper throughout ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Relief road may crash again
Only months ago hopes were being raised that the section between Frog Lane and the Saddle junction was going to be constructed - 23 years after the rest of the bypass was put in place. But council chiefs revealed today that the project was “under review” and admitted that it may fall victim to the Government’s own comprehensive spending review in the autumn whatever the local outcome. The multi-million project’s fortunes aren’t helped because it was banking on cash from the now doomed North West Regional Development Agency and also the European Regional Development Fund whose own finances are under severe strain. Completion of ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Located between the Gallatin and Crazy Mountain ranges and surrounded by the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Area, the town of Livingston is nestled along the free flowing Yellowstone River. Main Street and the historic districts are reminders the city's bygone golden era. The downtown buildings from the 1880s and 90s still stand as a testimony of the old west and give Livingston its special turn-of-the-century charm. Because of its historic flavor and beautiful natural surroundings, Livingston has also been seen on the silver screen in several movies, including the very popular A River Runs Through It. The detail was excruciating at times, but the message of Toyota Motor Corp.'s bought-and-paid-for dismemberment Monday of an Illinois engineering professor's testimony before Congress was clear: The Japanese automaker won't let allegedly rigged tests devised by an expert -- cited by a national TV network and used by trial lawyers -- go unanswered, lest their actions beggar Toyota's money machine in the United States by destroying its enviable reputation for bullet-proof quality and reliability. To be sure, Toyota has a massive problem: More than 8 million cars and trucks recalled worldwide to answer concerns ...
