'Bulk of cess for construction workers welfare unutilized'

BSNL launches 3G service in Goa
PANAJI: BSNL subscribers in Goa’s major cities will now be able to make video calls, use high-speed internet connectivity and even watch live TV on their mobile phones. Whether prepaid or postpaid, all they need to do is avail the just-launched 3G service. Launched with much ado in the capital city on Thursday, phase I of the next generation service is being offered in Panaji, Mapusa, Margao, Vasco and Ponda. GIDC nod for water recharge plan
The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) today gave its stamp of approval for funding the implementation of the rain water harvesting and the ground water recharge plan, at the Verna Industrial Estate. The decision was taken at the 318th meeting of the GIDC board, which was chaired by Quepem legislator Babu Kavlekar. The project, to be taken up at a cost of Rs 2,41,32,000 would be partially funded by the Department of Science Technology and Environment (DSTE) and the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB).
