Brian Nguyen knows about clocks and about hard work. He’s been running a clock store in Walnut Creek (by Lunardi’s) for 8 years, and opened on May 11 a new store in Moraga. For those of you not keeping track at home, that’s compressed natural gas — and interests in Lafayette ranging from the chamber to Acadiana’s legislative delegation are all ga-ga for it, as they should be. With an economic depression settling over the Gulf of Mexico in terms of exploration, Lafayette is positioned to be a case study for converting public vehicles to run on CNG. market research, surveys and trends
What happened to the BIG Stories in Lafayette? | Lafayette Chamber ...
When I first arrived in 1982, Lafayette was quiet semi-rural town.  It was known for its green hills and great schools.  Hey, wait a minute. I guess things have not changed much.  I’ll get back to that in a minute. This morning I received an email from one of our members.  Why he sent this to me, I will never know, but it is worth a look and a laugh.  The subject is “guy catches really big catfish.”  Check it out…  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyaPytuKB1A .  It reminded me of the stories I kept hearing about an alligator living in the Lafayette Reservoir.  I think it made the 6 o’clock news back in the mid 70’s.  Now that is a ... market research, surveys and trends

A federal appeals court rejected the government's attempt to restore their ban on offshore drilling late Thursday afternoon. Still, drilling companies may not be up-and-running anytime soon. On paper, it looks like a win for the oil industry- drilling can continue as it did before the moratorium. However, drilling companies aren't acting too fast. Don Briggs of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association says offshore companies will not continue drilling until the appeals process is complete. Lafayette starting gas plan
LAFAYETTE — A push to bring more natural-gas-powered vehicles to the city is moving forward after city-parish government received a $1 million infusion from the state to convert vehicles for the new fuel source and building special refueling stations. The city has been working with the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association on the effort, which is billed as a way to tap a readily available energy source that is cheaper and cleaner than gasoline. “Much more important to me than the potential savings we could achieve is that we develop a demand for a fuel that is ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
