The latest U.S. Census Bureau population estimates - the official count won't be in until later this year - show that even with Amarillo and Lubbock growing 9.1 and 13 percent respectively in the last decade, West Texas keeps losing ground to the rest of the state. In Frisco, for example, a bedroom community in the Dallas area, the city grew 203.9 percent, making it by far the fastest growing in the nation.
