Morning Buzz - Inside USC with Scott Wolf
The Pete Carroll book tour starts July 13th in Manhattan (of all places). Not sure how many New Yorkers care about a former USC coach now readying himself for a mediocre NFL career. operating levy and capital facilities bond. On the ballot every three years, the measures have passed with a majority support since 1995. The Chamber's Executive Committee voted last Friday to support the Schools First measures based on their critical importance to the children who attend Seattle's public schools. The $397 million operating levy provides nearly one-quarter of the schools' daily operating expenses. The $490 million capital bond focuses on seven schools needing major capital construction. Should the measures fail, the negative impacts would include the loss of approximately one in four teachers . ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Its great to be here this morning, and I first want to thank the Seattle Chamber of Commerce for as usual knowing where the ball is when it comes to promoting our economy and not just in Seattle. Last year, all of us at this annual Leadership Conference focused on Climate Change which like Global Health is something were tackling the Washington Way by crossing artificial boundaries to work together through innovation, imagination, and partnerships. Global health and global climate change cry out for leadership, and we in Washington are providing it. The U.S. Chamber: A Record of Obstruction on Climate Action by ...
In 1883, New York faced an environmental crisis. Water levels were falling in the state’s rivers and canals, impeding travel and shipping. Scientists and editorial writers placed the blame on the logging and burning of the Adirondacks, which prevented the forests from exercising their usual moderating influence on stream flows. To make matters worse, these impacts were the result of logging only on the fringes of the Adirondack region. But in 1883, the Adirondack Railroad Company proposed to build a line ...

How much does it cost to join the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce ...
I have looked over their website and I can't seem to find a price of membership. Does anyone know what it costs? 10 months ago Member since: July 24, 2006 Total points: 1296 (Level 3) Too much. The don't advertise their membership rates because they size you up like a used car salesman. You have to fill out a preliminary application on line and then they'll do some research on your company to figure out what pricing structure to drop on you. Aside from networking, there isn't much that they do for you and if you aren't in a business to business industry, you won't see much ...
If I want to move to the Seattle area, where's the best place?
I love the pacific northwest and would liek to move out there, preferrably around Seattle. I'm used to a decent sized metro area with all my favorite places (walmart, target, Panera Bread, etc.) I want to know the best place to go in that area where I can find all my favorite places, but not have to live in Seattle proper. (i'll probably work in Seattle so I'd like to be close-ish). I have looked at Everett, but some people make it sound liek having your car stolen or getting killed is almost inevitable...  Discuss this question (6 comments) why can't I answer?
