The Linux Foundation announced April 8 its annual sponsorship of independent IDC predictions about how the Linux ecosystem will grow over time. The answer is “a lot” but exactly what you’d expect in relationship to the UNIX ecosystem.  I usually measure Linux/UNIX usage growth/decline by following the IDC quarterly view of server shipments. The clear trend from that perspective is that factory shipments of servers with Linux is increasing basically at the rate that factory shipments of servers with UNIX decreases. It gets the rabid open source blogosphere foaming at the mouth to say this but Linux is basically ...
in the early 1980s. Details are abstracted from the users, who no longer have need for expertise in, or control over, the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports them. Cloud computing describes a new supplement, consumption, and delivery model for IT services based on the Internet, and it typically involves over-the- Internet provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources. 1 2 It is a byproduct and consequence of the ease-of-access to remote computing sites provided by the Internet. The term "cloud" is used as a metaphor for the Internet, based on the cloud drawing used in ...

Eye on OMS Systems | 2010 Order Management Software Roundup
The hot topic in systems is the July 1 deadline for meeting the requirements of the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI-SSC) and its Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). But there is still much confusion with this issue. According to the Data Security Standard, software vendors should have their systems reviewed by an officially certified qualified security assessor (QSA) to assure that the system meets all the required standards. If approved, the vendor may apply — and pay — for posting on the official PCI-DSS systems list. If a system is hosted outside the merchant's ... market research, surveys and trends

SURVEY RESULTS FOR
UNIX MERCHANT SERVER SYSTEM

Serving Up Customers/Web Developer®
are serious about selling products online, and the ranks of online shoppers are starting to expand. With public acceptance of secure servers, chances are good that your competitor is already ringing up sales-with or without a RealAudio "Ka-Ching." There are a few advantages to just beginning to shop for a secure commerce server now. First, competitors who dove in early had less material to research and a small or nonexistent pool of example sites and references. Second, online purchases are gaining public acceptance and bringing out the shoppers, so there is less of a wait to profit from your investment. Third, time ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Canada's women eight beat out the local favourites today to win at the Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England. The Canadian women set the tone for the race with a solid start and ended up winning by two lengths in a total time of 7.29 minutes over the British team, representing Leander Club and Oxford Brookes University. Apache VeriSign and Changing Status Codes...
First, a little background. I'm a webmaster for a small company that caters to courts, serveral of which accept payments of fines on-line via VeriSign's PayFlow Link service. These payment sites have been in place for over a year now, and everything was working great until VeriSign decided they needed to update their servers. Aparently, their new system is a bit more particular than the old when it comes to the Status Code that it receives from the merchant's server on a Silent Post (Silent Post is how VeriSign sends data to the merchant's server after a completed transaction). I realized this after they ...
GC payment cannot send the order on my zencart shopping chart ...
Unsure what you mean by "everything goes well"....the error above is saying Google can't send your systems some data. If you meant you're still able to use Google Merchant Center to process orders - yes, that's the way it is. Google Merchant Center is not affected by any errors in your system. Unfortunately, internal server errors like the one above can only be addressed by someone within your organization. I don't use Zen so this is solely based on your post: If as you mentioned everything was working prior to your IP change, and no application side items were modified (Zen, db, etc.), then if ...
