Bank of America CFO Chuck Noski said the bank has added "strong internal controls" to prevent the misidentification of accounting transactions that have been subject to a Securities and Exchange Commission inquiry of large banks. History of credit transactions being a negative number in ...
The P&L would make a lot more sense to people if it was the other way around, ie revenue a positive number and expenses a negative number. Of course then the balance sheet would make less sense, assets would be negative and liabilities would be positive. Just wondering how the lesser evil was picked? Seems to me the lesser evil would be to let the P&L make more sense. I say that because a BS normally shows all the numbers as positive anyway.
