TA: Reining in Europe's Debtor Nations
MUNICH – The eurozone countries have now agreed to provide some €80 billion in cheap loans to Greece over the next three years, and hope that the International Monetary Fund will provide another €15 billion at the least. But the interest rate that Greece must pay buyers of its government bonds has shot up to a record-high level of nearly 9% – 5.9 percentage points above the benchmark rate paid by Germany. That translates into an additional €16 billion per year in interest payments on Greece’s current debt of €273 billion. Obviously, markets still believe that Greece will default on its debt. Greece, moreover, has another huge ... market research, surveys and trends

Klaus Regling Explains the EU's Stability Fund
Klaus Regling, chief executive officer of the European Financial Stability Facility, said Tuesday that Slovakia’s opposition to the bailout fund isn’t an obstacle and the €440 billion facility should be operational “before the end of the month.” Speaking in an interview with Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal, the 59-year-old German — who calls himself a “happy technocrat” — said the EFSF hasn’t received any requests for financial aid, but funds could be made available within a month if needed. The EFSF has been set up by the 16 countries that use the euro to ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Liberia: Liberty Party Warns Gov't, Says Waivers Obligate
News of the decision of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) to waive Liberia's US $4.9 billion foreign debt came like a friendly fire blitzkrieg to Liberia. The government of Liberia sees it as a milestone coup – a milestone coup that rewards its two-year fiscal austerity efforts, which brings relief, and which is therefore worth celebration. The international community sees it, well, not so differently. But for others, some of whom pride themselves as 'grass rooters', the news calls for more caution, more review of the past and strategizing for the future, than celebration. ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Why inflation is important for country's economy? - Yahoo! Answers
Before we begin our journey into the macroeconomic village, let's review the terminology inflation.Inflation can mean either an increase in the money supply or an increase in price levels. Generally, when we hear about inflation, we are hearing about a rise in prices compared to some benchmark. If the money supply has been increased, this will usually manifest itself in higher price levels - it is simply a matter of time. For the sake of this discussion, we will consider inflation as measured by the core Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is the standard measurement of inflation used in the U.S. financial markets.
