Canada has a rich history of social enterprise, especially seen through the lens of Quebec’s social economy or the broader community economic development movement. Less well developed is a nationally scaled social enterprise and social finance movement, which has not had the benefit of supportive and comprehensive national public policy. In that sense, Canada trails behind other jurisdictions like the United States or the United Kingdom. I was very fortunate in April to have learned a lot about the UK’s experience when I travelled there to attend the 2010 Skoll World Forum . The forum coincided with the ...
The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal , although there are also some with four, five, seven and eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (36 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres thick in places. The Giant's Causeway is today owned and managed by the National Trust and it is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern Ireland .

a co-founder of Intel and a Silicon Valley icon, is sounding two alarms about innovation’s future. Both flow from his disagreement with the accepted article of faith that the US tech sector necessarily should focus high-end jobs in the US and export manufacturing jobs. One alarm is that US innovation is dropping the ball in job creation. By exporting manufacturing offshore to Asia, the United States is focusing on start-ups.  “Start-ups are a wonderful thing,” says Grove in a recent essay in Bloomberg Businessweek , “But they cannot by themselves increase tech employment.” Grove challenges that ... market research, surveys and trends
financing our future
Two organizations, Ottawa’s Carleton Centre for Community Innovation, Carleton University and Toronto’s Causeway Social Finance, are joining forces to fund and launch a new social finance system for Ontario. On June 5th 2009 this initiative was awarded $299,200 grant by Ontario’s Trillium Foundation to advance this work in our province. Social finance is still an emerging practice in Canada, compared with the United Kingdom and the United States. But this gap is bound to narrow as the current economic downturn has sparked a sense of urgency and prompted a great deal of interest in developing social financing options in Ontario. ... market research, surveys and trends

Surviving theft of financial identity
Theft of financial identity is on the rise.  Theft of financial identity occurs when an individual uses another’s name, address, social security number or other identifying information to commit fraud. Under state and federal law, credit and some debit card fraud victims are only liable for the first $50 of their losses, and typically most financial institutions will waive this amount.  The harm to victims, however, can be significant and long lasting.  Victims are usually left with bad credit and a damaged reputation.  Currently, victims must work to resolve these problems on their own. How do i get a Giants Causeway colt foaled by Zenyatta? - Yahoo ...
Hi, Giant's Causeway's stud fee alone is $100,000. These two horses are GIANTS in the industry. Zenyatta is not yet retired, therefore, she will not be having a foal very soon. When she does retire I seriously doubt that her foal will be for sale. But if such a foal were to come up for sale, it would probably be high six figures. Horses that come from this high profile dams and sires would never be considered a bargain. And unless you have mega money, and are known in the industry, you would probably not be able to purchase a foal anyway. This business can sometimes bring unimaginable money. Lifelong horse ...
Which is better for shopping.. Bristol Cribs Causeway or Cabot ...
You should try both. These are different so it's not really an either/or situation. It depends on what sort of "shopping experience" that you want (yuck-speak, but I can't think of anything better). Cabot Circus is an extension of the City Centre Broadmead shopping area. This is the new shopping precinct and is quite stunning to look at (well designed city centre facilities are rare). It contains pretty well everything that you would expect to find in a big High Street as well as large department stores, but all rolled up into a multi-story precinct. In the Broadmead part there is an excellent Debenhams. There ...
