A news item briefly surfaced this week about “credit card redlining.” Dr. Ethan Cohen-Cole, a financial economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, is the author of a paper describing discrimination in consumer lending . The first interesting point made by the study was that, all other things being equal, a black neighborhood had less access to credit than a white neighborhood.
