Members of generation Y, the group of Americans currently in their late teens to early 30s, have watched as the housing market collapsed, the stock market faltered, and financial institutions received massive government loans to stay afloat. As a result, many of them are skeptical about handing over their hard-earned money to traditional banks. More than 1 in 5 20-somethings report a decreased trust level in banks over the past year, according to a recent survey by the research and advisory firm Aite Group.  [See A Financial Road Map for Generation Y .]  To avoid alienating these up-and-coming young customers, some ...

It therefore encompasses foreign aid , governance , healthcare , education , gender equality , disaster preparedness , infrastructure , economics , human rights , environment and issues associated with these. International development is different from simple development in that it is specifically composed of institutions and policies that arose after ...

Is an MBA a Plus or a Minus in the Startup World?
He is a Visiting Scholar at UC-Berkeley, Senior Research Associate at Harvard Law School and Director of Research at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Research Commercialization at Duke University. Follow him on twitter . ] A long time ago, I had to make a really tough choice: invest in an MBA from New York University, or make do with my bachelors. And I couldn’t imagine doing anything but programming computers for a living.  So why ... market research, surveys and trends

The wait is finally over. After several years of will-it-or-won't-it guessing, Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) made its stock market debut -- first in Shanghai on July 15, then in Hong Kong the following day -- with much fanfare. Raising $19.3 billion with an anticipated option to issue an additional $2.7 billion over the following weeks, ABC has now set the world record for the largest initial public offering (IPO), nudging out the $21.9 billion IPO from Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) in 2006. Eurozone OKs $145 billion bailout for Greece - Business - World ...
BRUSSELS — Finance ministers from the 16 countries that use the euro agreed Sunday to rescue Greece with €110 billion in loans over three years to keep it from defaulting on its debts. The loan package with the International Monetary Fund is also aimed at keeping Greece's debt crisis from spreading to other financially weak countries such as Spain and Portugal — just as Europe is struggling out of a painful recession. In return, Greece had to agree to an austerity program that will impose painful spending cuts and tax increases on its people for years to come. A question for the press corps about Breitbart
in The New Yorker magazine. He has been widely quoted by major news organizations on a whole host of topics and has received a great deal of press attention for his various pet crusades. So here's my question: Has any news org done a stand-alone story on the damage the Shirley Sherrod mess has done -- or should do -- to his credibility? Have any high profile traditional media figures come right out and said that Breitbart -- who admitted flat out that he received the Sherrod video unedited and posted it without tracking down the orignal -- has dealt himself a severe blow here? These are sincere questions. How much of this ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Should I Finance a car, or take out a personal loan, pay the car ...
1) Finance the car through the dealer's bank, which would mean that I would need full insurance coverage, for almost no reason, considering the car isn't that expensive, so I wouldn't need it to be covered, also parts are cheap for them, or 2) Take out a personal loan of the car's amount, pay the car off completely, and then I won't have to pay three times what I need to in insurance, and I can get a better rate on the loan? I mean, it sounds like a simple answer, but I'm mostly asking if the pros&cons of the loan are better than pros&cons of financing. I just need to get a ...
