Credit-card delinquencies fall to 8-year low: ABA
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Late payments for bank-provided credit cards fell in the first quarter to the lowest level in eight years, the American Bankers Association reported Wednesday. Bank-card delinquencies, reflecting card payments that are at least 30 days overdue, fell to 3.88% of all accounts in the first quarter -- the lowest rate since the first quarter of 2002 -- compared with 4.39% in the fourth quarter of 2009, according to ABA data. In addition to the Wall Street Journal and Investor’s Business Daily, I have found the following list of the books I have found helpful to me as a financial planner. Many are histories and case studies on what went wrong in the past, so I can better recognize trouble spots to avoid in the future. “The Millionaire Next Door” by Thomas Stanley and William Danko. This book does an excellent job explaining the difference between income and wealth. I cannot possibly recommend it more highly. “Tools & Techniques of Financial Planning” by Stephen Leimberg, et al.
