The northern desert contains great mineral wealth, principally copper. The relatively small central area dominates in terms of population and agricultural resources, and is the cultural and political center from which Chile expanded in the late 19th century, when it incorporated its northern and southern regions. Southern Chile is rich in forests and grazing lands and features a string of volcanoes and lakes. The southern coast is a labyrinth of fjords, inlets, canals, twisting peninsulas, and islands. 3 Prior to arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century, northern Chile was under Inca rule while the indigenous Mapuche inhabited ...
Why you should plant a corporate flag
One aspect of multiple flags that I don’t address too much is using corporations to your advantage. This is an important strategy that I think you should consider, and there are several reasons for doing so. Most importantly, governments generally respect businesses a hell of a lot more than individuals. To politicians, people are just slaves to be controlled… as my friend Doug Casey says, “tits on cow” that can be milked over and over again. Businesses, on the other hand, are an important means of creating jobs and generating revenue– a successful business can create hundreds, and even thousands ... market research, surveys and trends

The fund, to be run by professional managers from 2013, will disburse part of its annual income to every Mongolian in cash or non-cash securities to let them own stakes in the country’s mining wealth, Bayartsogt said. Teachers union poll: People would tax mining, business and gaming ...
Poll, done Jan. 31 by Lisa Grove of 500 state voters (MOE under 5 percent), also shows Democrat Rory Reid losing to Republican Brian Sandoval but defeating GOP Gov. Jim Gibbons, which mirrors other polls. People will question poll because of who paid for it, but it also shows Gibbons with a 25 percent favorability rating, which is huge for him. Reid the Younger's numbers look slightly better to me in this survey, but it also shows 63 percent think Harry Reid is doing a fair or poor job and 54 percent saying President Obama is doing a fair or poor job. It's an extensive poll, posted at right. Comments are moderated by ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

New EAC era dawns as doubts linger on
As the East African Community (EAC) ushers in the much-awaited Common Market today, Tanzanian business leaders are more ready and enthusiastic about this regional integration milestone than the ordinary citizens. While the businesses believe that the country is poised to greatly benefit from the opening of borders by the five partner states, many of the common wananchi still cannot figure out how they individually stand to benefit.  Interviews conducted by The Citizen have revealed that the owners of big businesses are more prepared, confident and ready to try their luck in the new environment that promises a lot of competition ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

DMMR - Mining Scams
A time-honored method to bilk the public of millions of dollars is the ubiquitous mining swindle. Since an unusually rich ore deposit, or bonanza, has historically produced enormous profits for the developer, many of us believe that we too, like the '49er, can strike it rich. The glamour attached to "discovery" creates, in the imagination of some people, a relatively easy way to attain fantastic wealth. Although money can be made in mining and this Department certainly encourages mining, we also have a responsibility to urge the public to exercise prudence in its investment. Too many people have lost their ... technology research, surveys study and trend statistics

Valuation of a mining project | LinkedIn Answers | LinkedIn
I wud appreciate some help on approach to valuation of a mining project/company having concession agreement (exploration and exploitation) for 50 years in a supposedly mineral rich (copper, cobalt, silver) land but with very limited technical details of reserves at this moment. Basically, need some proxy for reserves and there are companies in close proximity for whom the reserves details (grade, measures reserves) are available. In general, is it a fair idea to assume even distribution of minerals in a particular geography/region or are there some hotspots where mineral reserves are concentrated typically ? posted 6 months ago in
