My Big Trading Log: Weekly charts and analysis
I am finding it hard to see trades jump out at me as we start the week, I am going to be watching for direction before jumping in to anything. Today China announced a much bigger trade balance than expected at $20bln vs just under $14bln expected.  This is good for the risk trade although obviously not for global imbalances. Breakouts in "risk" commodity currencies and really good employment numbers for Australia and Canada are helping. Sterling is the weakest of the bunch but watch the BP news, sterling sold off on bad news from the Gulf of Mexico so news that BP have re-capped the spill and interest from ... market research, surveys and trends

Iraq patrol gets riskier with rollover; back to America
FOB FALCON, BAGHDAD, July 2 — The heat continues to build here in Iraq. With temperatures pushing the 130-degree mark and all the soldiers wearing full body armor and helmets whenever outside, to say it's hot is an understatement. Our patrols continue to push out with our Iraqi counterparts to try and prevent further attacks on our base. It is a tiring duty as soldiers patrol in armored vehicles baked to the boiling point by the merciless sun. I'd like to describe one patrol we recently returned from that turned out to be a lot longer than we had planned. Our four-vehicle patrol was moving south. To avoid IEDs, ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Boehner distances himself from Barton apology to BP
So how bad is it for the GOP that select Republicans are slamming the White House for successfully pressuring BP to create a $20 billion escrow fund, calling it variously a "slush fund" and a "shakedown"? Bad enough for John Boehner to distance himself from those making such remarks -- in particular, GOP Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, who apologized to BP: House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) broke with a top Republican on Thursday who suggested BP had suffered a "shakedown" by being forced to set up a $20 billion fund to pay out damages. Boehner distanced himself from remarks by Rep. Joe Barton ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Google Answers: how long until all the oil is gone?
Hello. This is one of those questions for which there is no simple answer. Among analysts who believe that the world will run out of oil, estimates vary from, say, 30 years from now to 100 years from now. From the web site: "Forecasters predict that oil consumption will increase 1% annually and gas consumption 3% annually. With this forecast we would run out of oil by 2034 and gas by 2035. Before we panic and wonder how fast scientists can develop other energy sources, we need to consider another part of the equation. Reserves end-of-year = Reserves beginning-of-year - Production + Additions This ...
General Stock Investment Strategies: 401(K) to IRA to ETF?, t rowe ...
QUESTION: My husband changed jobs in 2006, leaving his 401(K) acct at his old company. There is a sizable amt involved. I know we can move this when we want. Obviously no money has been added by us to this account. He did start another 401(K) at his new company. He also has a Roth IRA and a traditional IRA (that we no longer make contributions to). My question(s)-- if we 'rollover' the old company 401(K) can we keep it split up among different mutual funds (like it is now)(how to do this?) or does it all have to go to one Fund Family? Is this a big paperwork nightmare? We are looking at ETFs for this money, due to lower ...
