by Phil Town while waiting for an oil change. As a book, it’s been a success. It received 4-1/2 stars from 156 customer reviews on Amazon. It got on the BusinessWeek Best Seller List . It also got an endorsement from the former SEC chairman Arthur Levitt on the back. However the first sentence of the book doesn’t pass the smell test. “This book is a simple guide to returns of 15 percent or more in the stock market, with almost no risk.” Really? Even Madoff couldn’t pull that off with a Ponzi scheme going. Madoff only gave 10% – 12% returns. The book’s inside flap says “In this book ...

Luck, Hard Work, and Retiring Overseas |
Not as well prolonged ago we took the eighth month in Costa Rica. we stayed during the Bed & Breakfast. A singular mom was using it with her 19-year-old daughter. The mom doesn’t verbalise most English as well as we don’t verbalise Spanish. With palm gestures, we were means to promulgate — we think she understands English some-more than she speaks. I was feeling flattering great about carrying my traveller dollars assistance the minority-owned tiny commercial operation until Friday dusk when the genuine owners showed up. They arrived in dual apart cars; the singular of them was the Lexus LX470 full-size ... market research, surveys and trends

The Fed Needs to Make a Policy Statement « Financial Crisis and ...
More and more one hears the concern that the Fed has embarked on an expansionary policy that will result in high inflation once the economy returns to normal. John Taylor, a leading expert in this area, put the argument as follows, in recent Congressional testimony : … the enormous increase in reserves is potentially inflationary. Many people ask me if it is inflationary, so I know it is on people’s minds. With the economy in a weak state and commodity and many other prices falling, inflation is not now a problem, but at some time the Federal Reserve will have to remove these reserves or we will have a large increase ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
What Is Your Marginal Tax Rate? - The Finance Buff
If I ask you point-blank "what is your marginal tax rate?" do you know the answer? If you think you know, write it down. If you are not sure, take your best guess. After you finish reading this post, see if you got it right. The marginal tax rate is the tax you pay on your last dollar earned. Chilling levels of household debt finally dawns
In years to come New Zealanders will look back on the winter of 2010 as the moment we finally realised the last decade of growth was a sham. It will be the moment when it dawns on home owners, small business people, retailers and real estate agents that our household debt has hit saturation point and we just can't swallow any more. It will be when we realise that without that extra debt our economy doesn't grow much, unless we can produce more useful goods and services for each hour that we work. Our productivity hasn't grown much in the past decade and now we can't disguise it any more by spending borrowed ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
