(e.g. "prices are rising"). A conceptual domain can be any coherent organization of human experience. The regularity with which different languages employ the same metaphors, which often appear to be perceptually based, has led to the hypothesis that the mapping between conceptual domains corresponds to neural mappings in the brain This idea, and a detailed examination of the underlying processes, was first extensively explored by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson in their work Metaphors We Live By . Other cognitive scientists study subjects similar to conceptual metaphor under the labels " analogy " and " ...
The John Batchelor Show :: Sting - De-Brief
Successful sting operation of the IDF and Israel run by the Hamas gang and its eager paymasters in Tehran. The IDF failed to spot the trap. The Hamas agitprop team was in place in Turkey to go immediately with the story of Israeli brutality. The lynch mob that met the commandos was organized to confront and sacrifice.  The nine KIA are likely all from the martyr ops. Waiting for forensics on who was shot and and by whom, since the IDF reported losing pistols to the mob. An IDF failure of intelligence. Hamas gained nothing but the cheap attention it craves (below, the sad-sack Gaza harbor). No change.  Bibi ... market research, surveys and trends
I get email — arrogant insincerity edition : Pharyngula
I try to be patient with all the email I get, I really do, and usually the greatest forebearance I can offer is to simply set a piece of email aside and go on. There simply is not enough time to answer everything, especially when my correspondent is better off going to the library, and most especially when the only reply I'm inspired to give is to snarl, "Go away, kid, you bother me." So let me introduce you to young Mr Rosenberg. He has written me twice, the first time with a fairly routine set of questions that I politely set aside because I get a few hundred of these every week, and because he was asking the ... market research, surveys and trends

Intrasite Contextual Navigational Model
For some time I have been thinking of a system wherein a site can display contextually relevant content (from the site itself) on its pages. The intention is to provide an "addon" navigational model to large websites, wherein an algorithm matches the content of a page with the most relevant pages in the website. After becoming painfully aware of the technical limitations, it occured to me that as Google is the leader in contextual field, why not we explore the possibility of suggesting a new adsense feature on these lines. For example, their bots can potentially serve related content in adsense units from the site itself. In the ...
