Last December, when the county Board of Supervisors cast a majority vote adopting newer, stricter requirements for the office of tax collector/treasurer, a pair of names initially came into play: Audra Strickland and Larry Matheney. The 4-1 decision had been proposed by Supervisor Kathy Long, backing up a 1995 state law which calls for specific professional and educational experiences in the financial industry for anyone seeking election as treasurer.
