companies looking for something that just looks out of place. This time around our attention was caught by a financial company, whose CDS was trading at a level which we initially thought had to be a mistake. The company in question is Herndon , Virginia based National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (corporate ticker NRUC ), and the initial reason why we were intrigued by it is that not only was it trading about 800 points tighter than comparable (and since NRUC is rated A1/A, better rated) financial companies including GECC , HSBC Financial and American Express, but on February 19, NRUC actually traded tighter ...
Various astronomical alignments and numerological formulae related to this date have been proposed, but none have been accepted by mainstream scholarship. A New Age interpretation of this transition posits that during this time Earth and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation , and that 2012 may mark the beginning of a new era. Others suggest that the 2012 date marks the end of the world or a similar catastrophe. Scenarios posited for the end of the world include the Earth's collision with a passing planet (often referred to as " Nibiru ") or black hole , or the arrival of the next
stock market manipulation? gee that wouldn't be a very good thing ...
Stock Market manipulation? Fantasy? Tin Foil territory? Maybebut if someone asked you 3 years ago to believe that Bear Stearns, GM, Lehman Brothers, and other so-called paragons of US Corporate might would be gone in 2009 would you have thought it was tin foil ranting? Take a look at this article over at Atlantic The Quiet Coup written by an IMF Economist. Dont much like his solutions but his diagnosis sounds spot on. Now after you have done that take a look at this terrific article at Zero Hedge. Zero Hedge Exclusive: Is State Street Trading For Federal Accounts?
I do so hope with all my heart this is true and they get the evidence. Then we can finally get rid of the lying sack of crap that is the Federal Reserve. Zero Hedge has always been fascinated by the behemoths of securities lending (or not so much lately) State Street and Bank Of New York: these firms, which allegedly had just marginal toxic exposure, were in the front lines for the TARP bailout and have traditionally been handled with velvet gloves by the administration. In fact, many would say the custodian firms are in a league of importance much higher than even Goldman or JP Morgan as with their repo activity, security ... market research, surveys and trends

Zero Hedge: Exclusive: AIG Was Responsible For The Banks' January ...
Zero Hedge is rarely speechless, but after receiving this email from a correlation desk trader, we simply had to hold a moment of silence for the phenomenal scam that continues unabated in the financial markets, and now has the full oversight and blessing of the U.S. government, which in turns keeps on duping U.S. taxpayers into believing everything is good. I present the insider perspective of trader Lou (who wishes to remain anonymous) in its entirety: "AIG-FP accumulated thousands of trades over the years, all essentially consisted of selling default protection. This was done via a number of structures with really only ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

I watched our President’s brief address on prime time this evening. His delivery was passionate. His message, strong and partisan. His intentions were clear. Rally support for his stimulus program. In the wake of a few really bad days of press, his honeymoon period clearly over, I thought he did a strong and ballsy thing. Problem is, the plans being bandied about concerning the financial sector are still off the mark. How is it, after the mistakes made by Paulson and the prior Administration that we are still unclear as to what the plan should be? As I’ve said before, I just don’t get it . But now it’s ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Democratic House candidate gets nearly half her cash from Wall Street
Rep. Carolyn Maloney D-N.Y., garnered 48 percent of her second-quarter fundraising haul from people associated with the financial services industry, our analysis of her campaign filings shows. Saujani's donor list is an extremely rarefied place. It includes donations from ultra-elite New Yorkers like Judith Dimon ($1,400), wife of the JP Morgan CEO; ex-World Bank president James Wolfensohn ($2,400); hedge fund wizard Neil Barsky ($4,800); and Theodore Roosevelt IV of Barclays ($300). If you mapped the list, lots of donors would be clustered in the West Village, around Central Park, and on the Upper East Side. Saujani's ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Florida pension agency head blurs line between state, personal business
The man who oversees $134 billion of public money has recommended investing some of it in companies run by friends or business associates, and he doesn't see any conflict in doing that. Ashbel C. Williams Jr., the executive director of the State Board of Administration, recommended that Florida invest a proposed $100 million of public pension money in a Miami firm run by two fellow investors in a hedge fund where he used to work. On May 25, Williams approved the investment with Bayview Asset Management, a fund that acknowledges it is "high risk'' and that profits, in part, from foreclosures on homeowners. market trends, news research and surveys resources

Comments of Bing Liang for the SEC Roundtable on Hedge Funds
I am obliged to Stephen Brown and Will Goetzmann for their encouragement of conducting this project and for their suggestions that have improved this paper significantly. I would like to thank Will Goetzmann for providing part of the US Offshore Fund dada. All errors are my own. In this paper, we investigate why the same hedge fund may report different performance measures in different places. We find that auditing plays an important role in explaining this difference. Although majority hedge funds state they have auditors, a significant proportion of hedge funds are not effectively audited. Especially, dead funds are less ... technology research, surveys study and trend statistics

How do I go about investing in jim rogers Quantum hedge fund? do ...
unless you're an accredited investor or a financial institution your chances of getting your money in a hedge fund are zero. You must have net equity of 1M, with income being 250,000 of that 1M in order to be qualified. Watch for regulation of the hedge fund market. And pray to God they don't regulate it. 3 years ago There are currently no comments for this question. * You must be logged into Answers to add comments. Sign in or Register .
