The facility was intended to improve the ability of broker dealers to access liquidity in the overnight loan market that banks use to meet their reserve requirements . Oil spill: Criminal probe launched : The Swamp
Striking an increasingly aggressive posture as the Deepwater Horizon disaster enters its second month, the Obama administration said Tuesday it would launch a criminal investigation into the origins of the Gulf of Mexico rig explosion that killed 11 people and caused the largest oil spill in U.S. history. "If we find evidence of illegal behavior, we will be extremely forceful in our response," Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. said in New Orleans after viewing spill damage, which he described as "heartbreaking to see." Holder said he thought there was "sufficient evidence" for a criminal investigation ... market research, surveys and trends
SPORTSbyBROOKS » McCourt Kids Paid $600000 Per Year For No Work
Weinbach, bless his heart, further unraveled the McCourt’s dubious financial dealings with the Dodgers by exposing money-for-nothing schemes involving the McCourt’s two sons and various shell companies designed to funnel money to a “ slush fund ” set up for Frank’s personal use. Over the past 18 months, the Los Angeles Dodgers paid nearly $4 million in “consulting services” to an entity that has done virtually nothing for the club, even as the team has made a concerted effort to raise ticket prices, trim payroll and acquire players on the cheap. Moreover, the club paid two of Frank and ... market research, surveys and trends

Quick Fact: Despite her previous support, Palin bashed TARP as ...
Sarah Palin repeated criticism of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) as "crony capitalism at its worst," a "slush fund," and claimed that part of the "fundamental difference" between conservatives and the Obama White House is that conservatives know government bailouts are "not the answer." In fact, Palin supported TARP when it was first implemented, saying that "it is a time of crisis and government did have to step in," and later wrote that Republican opposition to TARP was "not helpful to our cause." [Viewpoint] Cho's critical blunder
Cho Hyun-oh, who has been nominated to head the National Police Agency, ignited a firestorm recently by making remarks on allegations that the late former President Roh Moo-hyun controlled a secret slush fund. Conservative groups have demanded an independent counsel investigation to get to the bottom of the controversy. Cho made the remarks during a lecture to the members of the Seoul police force, and it has since become a topic of ideological debate in Korean society. It is rare for a lecture by a senior public servant to stir up such an enormous social conflict. The 13-page transcript of the lecture is a significant document ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Why Donald Yee Is Wrong. Really, Really Wrong
for privatizing college football programs, because I'm not sure it's not a parody. But going on the assumption that it's not -- that it's instead a pompous, narcissistic and blatantly uneducated attempt to argue for something that is in the interest of Yee and the NFL and no one else -- here we go: Two championship coaches recently launched attacks on sports agents for allegedly defiling this house of worship by giving college players what the National Collegiate Athletic Association calls "impermissible benefits" -- benefits that make those players pros and not amateurs. "The agents that do ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Socialism vs Capitalism: Which is best for American and why ...
Socialism, which is not the opposite of capitalism, usually ends up with a clique in control who hog the majority of the wealth. For the average citizen there is little difference. Representative democracy which was invented by the Iroquois League is the best thing for America, and we should work to restore it. The Greek version of democracy had a lot of down sides (ask Socrates). When immigrants to the U.S. found a better system of government (which they them exterminated) than Europe or Asia had been able to think of, they recognized it as being a better way. The crowned-heads of the Old World were horrified because they saw ...
Was the TARP program worth it after all? | LinkedIn Answers | LinkedIn
I'm with you on this one. TARP worked, and is still working. As you noted, the CITI deal will bring the government (you, me , other taxpayers) a healthy profit. We should only make out so well on everything the government does. The political vultures won't acknowledge it because it doesn't suit their purpose, which is to get the other guy elected (doesn't matter which side - remember, TARP was started by the Republicans). posted 2 months ago Hard to say yet. The carry trades done by the TARP recipients probably served to keep the market from a very bad sell off and also insulated the banks against losses ...
