"Second language acquisition" refers to what the learner does; it does not refer to what the teacher does (see " language education " for work on language teaching). "Second language acquisition research" studies the psychology and sociology of the learning process. Sometimes the terms "acquisition" and "learning" are not treated as synonyms and are instead used to refer to the subconscious and conscious aspects of this process respectively (see second language learning ). Existentialism in Education
A keen study of quite an amount of existentialist philosophy would reveal that to write about existentialism is neither easy nor simple but a challenging and complex one. If doubts and confusions are left uncleared, one can only say that “contradictions and inconsistencies are fundamental to their thought.”1 Some illustrations of such paradoxes are – Heidegger’s statement -: ‘analyse death to understand life’, Jaspers : ‘Renounce your world and you will return to it’, Santre : You are a free man if you deny God’, Kierkegaard : ‘You are a free man if you accept God”, etc. When once a critique drew the attention of Sartre by ... market research, surveys and trends

Education : a New Vision for the Future
Kapil Sibal writes:  “As a nation we are now poised to take some historic steps, collectively, to empower our children and thereby, our entire nation. As the Human Resource Development Minister of the country, it is my duty and obligation to ensure that our children are placed at the centre of the ambitious education reforms programme embarked upon by my Ministry. My vision for the future is that of a wholly Child Centric Education system. We cannot afford to be the slaves of the past. We must keep ourselves in synch with the processes of change sweeping through the globe. We need to learn from the past, build on it and create ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
In search of scientists
The South African economy is currently mainly resource-based, whereas the most rapidly developing economies have invested heavily in the knowledge-based economy. A resource-based economy is not sustainable in the long term as resources get depleted with time. However, the use of our current richness in resources to develop a knowledge-based economy will position South Africa to compete with global economic development to the benefit of our people. Through scientific and technological innovations, a sustainable economic growth is achievable. Google Answers: Personal Evaluation
I have two sons, age 12 and 15. I would like to find some kind of online testing service that would help us to evaluate "what kind of cloth they are cut out of"; i.e., what are their individual gifts, capacities, personality type, way of learning/understanding, career paths for which they are best suited, etc., as opposed to some kind of SAT or other kind of test designed determine what they've learned so far. At this point, I'm looking for direction. I don't mind paying a few bucks for the service, so long as it is solid stuff and not some kind of online superficial scam that puts out boiler-plate ...

I don't know whether or not you are still in school, but if you are, your school will have access to several valid and reliable instruments that can give you career ideas and measure your aptitude for those careers.  In general, it is best to find an instrument that measures both work values and aptitudes.  In other words, you want something to tell you what you would like AND whether or not you will be good at what you like.  Some examples of these kinds of instruments are the Myers-Briggs Personality test in combination with the Strong Interest Inventory.    I like inventories based on the Holland ...
