Cadets relish "chow" time at the Leader Development and Assessment Course, for both the nourishment they need and the break meal-time offers. Photo by Mike Sweeten. By 2nd Lt. Michael Turner Warrior Forge Public Affairs JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. – Most Cadets attending the Leader Development and Assessment Course will tell you that when they see the brownish tint of an Army MRE – or “meal, ready to eat” – they are silently thinking two things. The first is the hope of the “chow” break – a brief respite in another long day of training. The second is the hope that inside of their weighty brown meal bag is not an Army-issued ... market research, surveys and trends

Rhode River study points to problems, solutions
No smoking guns were found to explain what ails the Rhode River, but a recent assessment of the watershed found that many smaller problems, if tackled, could collectively turn the tide toward better water quality. Joshua McKerrow — The Capital TOP: West/Rhode Riverkeeper Chris Trumbauer peers up out of the gouged-out bed of a tributary of Muddy Creek. A recent study of the Rhode River watershed pointed to this spot as the most in need of a fix. Term limits shift balance of power to special interests
Like all newly elected lawmakers, Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes arrived in Sacramento needing two things to ensure his success: legislative achievements and campaign money. If he established himself as a political force, the Los Angeles-area Democrat might breeze to re-election in two years and rise up the legislative ranks. And sure enough, there were folks who could help him along — the throng of lobbyists offering bill ideas on behalf of their corporate clients. In his first term in office, beginning in 2007, Fuentes introduced 10 bills that had been crafted and pushed by those lobbyists — one of the highest totals ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Graduated army AIT, still waiting on orders months later... how do ...
Okay, so I graduated AIT at Fort Gordon (25u, fwiw), and have been waiting around for months waiting on my orders. I've heard of some people who have been waiting around here for a lot longer than that, as well. The main reason for this is basically lazy cadre and staff at ops. I'm not waiting on medical stuff, security clearance, anything... by all logic I should be good to go, but I've yet to receive my orders (Then again, Ft. Gordon I've heard has a reputation for bad leadership and staffing, but I digress.) My question is, what doors do I have to knock on to speed up the process? Anyone in ...
