He paused to relax in the door of his airplane and focused on the pale blue sky merging with the distant hills of gray  . That  didn’t help. Then came the applause. It came like waves crashing on a windswept beach swelling  and sinking and swelling again. No help either.  He was about to retreat into the plane but the band erupted into with a fast version of, “The Old Gray Mare, She Ain’t What She Used to Be.”  That was what he needed and the start of a glory-hallelujah presidential campaign kicked his mood into gear. His boyhood dream had come true. This was right. This was good. And, with his pearly whites glinting in the ... market research, surveys and trends
Civic resistance lesson for Americans « IRON CURTAIN PATRIOTS
and I – both free Americans, after escaping from communist countries – have been ranting at the indifference so many people around us have towards the path this nation is going under the current administration.  We feel we are screaming to the top our lungs and nobody is listening.  There are bad days when we think that calling upon the red flags of American being heavily penetrated by socialism in Facebook, Twitter and blogs is completely useless. There is the frustration of seeing so many young Americans taking their freedom and their rights for granted. There are days when I personally think, “Darn it, should we really need ... market research, surveys and trends

USAID Spigot Back On; Human Rights and Hunger Strikes; Policy ...
The Obama administration appears determined to play “regime change roulette” with the lives and safety of USAID contractors. As Alan Gross continues to sit in a Cuban prison, detained in December for engaging in “democracy promotion” activities funded by Helms-Burton and illegal under Cuban law, and as senior legislators in the House and Senate demand answers to questions about the effectiveness of these efforts, the Obama administration has now told Congress it wants to resume spending funds under these programs. We think these programs are a huge mistake.  They put at risk the very people the U.S. is trying to help, they do ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
First Thoughts: Day 500
With hyperpartisan stories like the Romanoff job offer (dredged back into the news), the kickoff of the Blagojevich trial, and, of course, the continued oil spill, it might go unnoticed by some that today is Barack Obama's 500th day in office (though, some might argue TOMORROW is 500; We’ll let Judge Mark Knoller decide, but we digress). There's always a lot of hype surrounding a president's first 100 days, but Obama has now been in office five times longer than that marker and what a stretch it's been. On a day -- in a presidency -- when small-picture brushfire stories (like Romanoff) are dominating, ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Clinton scorns 'entrenched' Cuba - The University of Tennessee ...
Cuba's leaders do not want to normalise ties with the US because then they would lose their excuse for the state of the country, says Hillary Clinton. Cuba's response to recent US efforts to improve relations had revealed "an intransigent, entrenched regime" in Havana, said the US secretary of state. The Cuban authorities have long blamed a 48-year US trade embargo for holding back the country's development. The US says the embargo will remain until Cuba improves human rights. Relations between Washington and the communist government in Havana have soured in recent months after early expectations of an improvement ...

I'm kinda stuck, Dave. I really want to learn how to really focus my blog efforts so I can gain more business advantage, but I haven't been inspired yet. Worse, I am stuck out in the boonies and don't have any Internet folk or bloggers in the area who can help me advance. So, help, what do I do? Dave's Answer: I hear your frustration and know exactly what you mean about the difficulty of finding quality professionals who can help you form what I would naturally call a mastermind group . After I installed a new hard drive on my laptop my DVD burner/player no longer works, but plays and burns CDs just fine. Is there a method/program for limiting a guest's access to my computer to -only- a web browser (no start menu, programs, file directories, etc.)? I applied for a job a couple of years, and didn't get it. I just saw another posting for the same job. How can I get it this time? I have quite a few books that I bought used that have cracked spines. They're not to the point where I need to rebind them, but I'd like to do everything I can do to keep them from reaching that point. Suggestions? ...
