The results of the concours for administrators are now out, and – surprise, surprise – I did not manage to pass. Here’s the extract of the letter: The selection board for the above competition has now finished marking the pre-selection tests in which you participated. I regret to inform you that although the marks you obtained in these tests were above or equal to the pass mark, you were not amongst the top 630 candidates. That is how I have been feeling after participating in a competition to become EU official. I tried to prepare it seriously, and then you arrive to the test centre and you can’t avoid wondering if it really made a difference. The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) is launching new competitions to find interpreters and translators to work in the European Union institutions. On 13 July, EPSO will begin the selection procedure for translators into Danish, German, English, French and Slovenian.
