At the Life Cycle Institute, class leaders are called facilitators. This acknowledges that in addition to being experienced authorities on their topic, they have a passion for teaching and have developed this passion into a set of learning facilitation skills. This can be either a downloaded application on each of the attendees' computers or a web-based application where the attendees access the meeting by clicking on a link distributed by e-mail (meeting invitation) to enter the conference. A webinar is a neologism to describe a specific type of web conference. It is typically one-way, 1 from the speaker to the audience with limited audience interaction, such as in a webcast . A webinar can be collaborative 1 and include polling and question & answer sessions to allow full participation between the audience and the ...

(CPM) by now; launched early this year on Facebook by Annabel Park, it quickly gained over 100,000 fans and initiated hundreds of face-to-face “coffee parties” across the country (fans now exceed 212,000!).  A left-leaning alternative to the Tea Party Movement, CPM The Coffee Party Movement is embracing civil discussion and collaboration as a means to impacting public policy. I had a great conversation with Annabel Park a couple of days ago, and she felt that CPM’s coffee party moderators could really benefit from the expertise in our community of practice.  For starters, she wondered if we could help identify ... market research, surveys and trends

For the first time ever, when we say “global” we really mean “global”. I remember the first day we conducted a webinar with a group of people from Korea. The following week we held one with people from Germany. Then Australia. Then Brazil. I specifically remember when we conducted a webinar that had people joined from four continents simultaneously. It was like magic. But now it’s almost become commonplace. Not a day goes by when webinars are not being attended by someone sitting in another part of the world. All that’s required is an internet connection. Train the Trainer, Before Training Others
One of the biggest misconceptions in the learning development world is if you are a subject matter expert in something that you can be a trainer.  Not everyone that really “knows their stuff” make good trainers, facilitators, teachers or even the people that design training materials.  Just because you know about something does not mean you know how to help others learn it well enough to perform the same tasks.  The secret to successful training is training the trainers before they train others. There is an entire skill set that belongs to the person conducting the training that includes knowing how ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Webinar tips for the speaker? | LinkedIn Answers | LinkedIn
You need a few things: For the webinar, try gotomeeting by Citrix. It works very well. You also need a land line phone for the call in. Lastly, the best webinars I have seen include a power point that the speaker walks through. this ppt is up most of the time you are speaking so one that is less graphical, and more textual works ok here. Also you will need a way (and Citrix has this built in) to allow people on the call to submit questions. They can type them into the Gotomeeting system and then you can just be sure to monitor and answer them during the Q&A posted 4 months ago Hi Roger, this is an excellent use of technology ...

(Yes, even those of you selling your service.) Webex works fine, but I think it's a bit lacking in functionality for live web-based training. Is there anything that would allow us to quickly see what each student is doing on their screen? Or does Webex handle that? Webex seems a bit awkward when it comes to managing a classroom full of voices and questions as well. I'm sure many of us mute everyone, and some people have told me they use a 2nd instructor ...
