The MC traces its earliest origins to the first physicians recruited by the Medical Department of the Army, created by the Continental Congress in 1775. Congress made official the designation "Medical Corps" in 1908, although the term had long been in use informally among the Medical Department's regular physicians. Currently, the MC consists of over 4,400 active duty physicians representing all the specialties and subspecialties of civilian medicine. They may be assigned to fixed military medical facilities, to deployable combat units or to military medical research and development duties. They are considered fully

New OCS rules remove waivers, lower age limit - Army News, news ...
After several years of growth, the Army is scaling back on opportunities for soldiers to attend Regular Army Officer Candidate School and tightening selection requirements. The change is among several for the OCS selection program for fiscal 2011, including changes in the age limit and waivers. A tentative board schedule released in late June by Human Resources Command indicates the Army will conduct two OCS panels in 2011 to select in-service soldiers for the branch-immaterial course at Fort Benning, Ga. The goal is to commission 522 lieutenants from among in-service applicants and more than 1,200 from Recruiting ... market research, surveys and trends
The Army's Magnificent Maude Complex, my $211 Million Office ...
A short note today.  I just wanted to post a photo of my new office...well, the new office complex where I work each day. Did I mention that I have a way-cool $211 million office?  Throw in another 14, 000,000 dollars for furniture and now I have a 225 million dollar office....which I share with 4,399 other Army employees.    This is the Lieutenant General (3-star) Timothy Maude Complex, just completed and opened in mid-June 2010, a month ago.  It is purported to be second-only to the Pentagon in floor space for any US Military building, and at just under 900,000 square feet and housing 4,400 employees, ... market research, surveys and trends

BRAC changes far from complete, more moves yet to come for Knox
"Change is coming to Fort Knox," said Col. Scott Cottrell, the U.S. Army Accessions Command's Base Realignment and Closure chief. For those who already live or work at Fort Knox, that's likely not a surprise. What may be a surprise, however, is that, according to Cottrell, the installation is nowhere near its final destination on this journey of transformation. Many other Army installations, Soldiers and DA civilians are in the same boat. This last round of BRAC affects 50 installations, three reserve garrisons, and eight leased facilities, Cottrell said. By this time in 2011, there will be eight other Army ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

with rental property in demand so has the rent prices the property owners have up the price so much that a person that lives here locally cannot afford to rent here anymore it is a shame that the property owners are uping the rent $200 and $300 more just because of BRAC they are here today and gone tomorrow it is a shame that these people are that low to do this when people start seeing people living in tents I would hope that they would not open their mouths.
