Equipped with an Honours degree in Psychology, a diploma in Small Business Management, a TEFL certificate, and the CII Certificate in Insurance, I am always trying to learn new things in order to carry out a number of positive changes. This blog is intended to shed some light on my life and to raise awareness about the need to build a better world...a just world. It seems plausible to say that most human beings spend most of their waking hours outside their homes. Although those individuals might have romantic partners and a kid or two, a ...
FSO: Global Analysis with J. R. Nyquist "Office Politics" 07/13/2007
(KGB). Your co-workers share a special comradeship, and a special history. Some of the agencys top bosses are linked to organized crime, kidnapping and murder. The kidnappings are a means for siphoning money from Westerners in order to finance Russian-speaking Arab terrorists in Chechnya. The kidnappings are also used to keep certain political players in line. The murders have to do with maintaining the position of hidden structures that supersede the Russian legislature, the national executive and the armed forces. There is nothing unusual in this, because conspiracy is a matter of FSB tradition. Back ... market research, surveys and trends
Finding Out Are Office Politics Good Or Bad
In almost every working environment we are faced with office politics. It seems to find a way of involving us and usually not by choice. The key to coping with these circumstances without crossing any ethical boundaries is to first and foremost decide what is of importance to you- the short term chance of promotion or the long term value of your professional development, which can take a life time to build but can serve as inspiration for life times to come. Some people think that they should avoid office politics all together, but statistics have shown that those who understand and use these politics are more likely to succeed ... market research, surveys and trends

Senate leader unveils $849 billion health care bill -
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid unveiled a sweeping health care bill Wednesday that would expand health insurance coverage to 30 million more Americans at an estimated cost of $849 billion over 10 years. Reid and other Senate Democrats cited an analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office for the coverage and cost figures. In addition, they said at a news conference, the budget office estimated that the proposal would reduce the federal deficit by $127 billion over the next 10 years and by more than $600 billion in the following decade. The CBO figures were preliminary, the Senate Democratic leadership said in a ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
War Room -
Thanks to Ben Nelson, the grim spectre of death that haunts all men (but especially 92-year-old men), and a perverse system that gives the Senate minority both the incentive and the ability to hurt the nation prior to midterm elections, the Senate has been unable to pass an extension of unemployment benefits for two months. Today, Barack Obama made a speech in the Rose Garden announcing that he was very disappointed in Congress for not helping people who have no jobs. He called on Congress to fix this. All it took for Obama to act was for a successful vote to already be a foregone conclusion! Obama did make the case that ... industry trends, business articles and survey research
Dynamics change when a friend becomes a boss
I ’m not sure how to handle my new supervisory position. Before being promoted I was friends with my co-workers, so I’m finding it difficult to tell them what to do. I love being a supervisor, but it’s hard to be as tough as I need to be. In a perfect world, I would like to be both a boss and a friend. However, I’m beginning to realize to get things done, I need to be less a friend and more a boss. I know I have to be a leader, but I’m afraid this will turn me into an unlikeable person. After all, does anyone really like their boss? To you, “boss” apparently means someone who is ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

How to tackle and manage office politics? | LinkedIn Answers ...
Politics are very bad in professional environment. But we can not get away from them. Handling the things in fair manner will always lead to satisfaction of colleagues. Even if someone plays politics we should be careful in tackling them. For example some colleagues may try to degrade your status so that they can overtake you. In such cases you should try to clear your status to the superiors and keep yourselves fair. Even if someone is playing games with you, you shouldn't do it. Because politic players always face a hard time when their games are exposed. and if you feel someone is playing with you then you should ...
New job and office politics-- how do I prepare myself and deal ...
I just started a job at a large manufacturing company. I work in the office and there are about 20 other people who work in the office as well. It's split about half and half with men and women and I've already noticed some things that could turn into issues if I don't figure out how to deal with them now. The first issue that could be a bit troublesome is the tension I feel (it's not reciprocated on my end) from another woman. She's about 10 years older than me, and about 10 years younger than all the other women in the office. So, she was the young, cute one until I came about. She ...
