Ensuring Solutions to Alcohol Problems: Media Center: Pre ...
Most employers that screen potential employees for illicit drugs may believe pre-employment drug tests ensure a drug-free workplace. But, alcohol is the most widely abused (and costly) drug used in work environments. 1 Data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health show that there are over three times as many employed binge and heavy drinkers than there are illicit drug users. 2 Problem drinkers cause approximately $134 billion in productivity losses. 3 Employers need to do more than require pre-employment drug tests in order to control for employee drug abuse. But, it soon became apparent that these tests were too narrow, David Montieth, vice president of human resources, explains. Now, "we give a 'customer service inventory' to sales associates and assistant managers, which tests for customer service attitude and aptitude, sales aptitude, service index, tenure, drug avoidance and honesty." League can't test Chris Simms' story by testing him for pot
During our weekly Friday morning visit with Joe Rose of WQAM in Miami, Joe raised a great point regarding the recent arrest of Titans backup quarterback Chris Simms for driving while impaired by marijuana . Simms claims that he was smoking only tobacco of the non-wackly variety.  So Joe thinks that the question easily could be resolved if the NFL simply requires Simms to submit to a drug test. Joe's right -- the presence of marijuana metabolites can be detected in urine for up to a month after use.  Short of Mike Shanahan's polygraph machine, urinalysis could be the best way to put this issue to rest. Google Answers: Tips on taking an on-online Employment/Job test
Several months ago I was required to take an on-line employment test. It was very short and took only 7 minutes. I had to choose from among about 50 different behavior characteristics in 2 parts. Part 1 asked me to select what I thought other people expected of me and part 2 asked me what I really thought of my true behavior. I was cautioned not to redo or change any answers. When I finished part 1 only then did I see part 2 and could not go back. I was told I did poorly. Yesterday, I was told by another employer that they will require me to take a job test on "jobsonline". I do not wish to do poorly. What tips or ...
