I agree with Tim's angle on this. When we think of innovation we tend to think of the same old things, and those are the same old things that quite often prevent innovation from becoming reality. For instance, I would not assess an executive's ability to explain his or her vision and subsequent translation into a mission statement. Moreover, I do not believe that vision has anything to do with innovation at all. If anything vision is one of the biggest inhibitors of innovation today.
