Acting police chief says he's leaving » News » This Is Jersey
ACTING Chief of Police David Warcup has said he does not want to be police chief and has blamed ‘malicious’ politicians for his decision. Mr Warcup, who released a statement yesterday saying that he would not be putting himself forward for the role following the controversial retirement of Graham Power, said that his main reasons for leaving the force were the ‘political hostility which has been directed towards me, the attacks on my personal integrity and the resultant delays in securing my appointment’. Those who own their own business know better than anyone that planning for the future survival of the company may seem challenging and distant when looking at the present state of affairs. Whether it is a sole proprietorship started from the ground up with no employees or a private company of 250 employees, the future survival or disintegration of that business is often not discussed in the course of day-to-day operations. Similar to looking out into the ocean with no horizon in sight, the idea of not being in control of the business (whether through retirement, death or unplanned sickness) is a thought that we don’t like to ... market research, surveys and trends

The ratio of managers to staff varies widely among Texas state agencies. While some differences can be expected, many agencies are “top heavy,” with managerial staffing well beyond the national norm. Reducing these ratios would save state revenue, place more focus on front-line employees and improve customer service. State agencies also face problems with other aspects of human resources, including high turnover and an aging work force. Enhancements to the state’s human resource management system would improve work force planning and employee recruitment and performance. Rural farms boosted by plan to keep communities young
NEW planning guidelines are to be introduced aimed at helping young people to stay in their farming community and boosting the rural economy, the Assembly Government announced yesterday. Speaking at the Royal Welsh Show, Environment Minister Jane Davidson, said the rules – to be brought into force immediately – would iron out the current differences between councils’ policies to development plans. The guidance would make it easier for businesses to set up in rural areas and should help enterprises already located in the countryside to grow, she said. It is also aimed at making it easier for farmers to get ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
Average Performance Isn't Good Enough?
We have experienced one of the worst recessions since the recession in the early eighties when the interest rates exceeded twenty percent. But, things are starting to look a little better. Oh, it wont be a dramatic recovery but a rather slow, long drawn out one. Still, many businesses are now starting to reconsider hiring more employees. Many astute leaders took the opportunity presented by the recession to weed the garden and upgrade their work force. Most businesses that survived this latest recession are much stronger as a result of it. Unfortunately some failed and did not make it. We must now be cautiously optimistic as we ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

What is the difference between Talent Management and Workforce ...
The big difference for me is that Talent management is targeted and looks at retaining and developing the people in areas where it is hard to procure, or where it is hard to this means that not everyone in the organisation is going to be involved. Certain skillsets and certain people will be proactively developed and the rest will be assisted with personal development plans and suchlike, but less proactively. Some people say this is unfair...I believe it is necessary for survival. Workforce manageemnt is focussed on everyone in the organisation dealing with all people in the same way. posted August 15, 2008 Hi Bryan,
