The major difference between the two is that the BUGS index is made up exclusively of mining stocks that do not hedge their gold positions more than a year-and-a-half into the future. This makes the BUGS Index much more profitable than the XAU when gold prices are rising, but can also compound its losses when gold declines. After publishing the HUI last week, I have had a number of questions about my count. Surprisingly, out of 50 emails received, some 20 were wondering how valid the count was if it was analyzed in semi-log format. Most of the work I do for constructing wave counts are based upon analysis on the weekly charts in semi-log format. The software that I use for displaying the Elliott Wave charts does not have a semi-log function, so I must display them in linear format. With all of the emails, the entire article from last week is presented to hopefully subdue any queries (and my email box) anyone may have. Glenn ... market research, surveys and trends

Gold as an investment at AllExperts
Considering its high density and high value per unit mass, storing and transporting gold is very easy. Gold also does not corrode. Historically, it was also very easy to verify that an offered coin had the density of gold through the use of Archimedes' principle . Today, however, some metals are denser than gold yet cheaper. While some think gold deserves special treatment based on its cultural value and use as money, others consider gold a commodity , like copper or lead . Some people, sometimes referred to as gold bug s, buy gold which they retain in their physical possession in the belief that should the monetary and ...

Before you put all your money in stocks, however, remember that the 10% return is an average of thousands of stocks over a very long period of time. Individual stock purchases don’t always live up to that expectation -- in fact, if you invest in many stocks, you will probably lose money on some of them. A bond is a promise to repay a certain amount of interest to the bond holder; stock is ownership in a company. If a company loses money but stays in business, the ...
