We read the reports. Sifted the data. Nagged insiders until they gave up the goods. Now, here's the result: 10-plus business trends that are thriving even in this economy. Economic Turmoil It's not the $700 billion bank bailout. And no, it's not the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The real economic stimulus is ... wait for it ... the recession. That's right, the Great Recession. This upside-down economy is creating entrepreneurial opportunities aplenty, so long as you can deal with a situation about as stable as a lava flow. Results from Challenger, Gray & Christmas' job ...
They are seeds of coffee cherries that grow on trees in over 70 countries. Green unroasted coffee is one of the most traded agricultural commodities in the world. 1 Due to its caffeine content, coffee can have a stimulating effect in humans. Today, coffee is one of the most popular beverages worldwide. 2 The energizing effect of the coffee bean plant is thought to have been discovered in Yemen in Arabia and in the northeast region of Ethiopia , and the cultivation of coffee first expanded in the Arab world. 3 The earliest credible evidence of coffee drinking appears in the middle of the fifteenth century, in the Sufi monasteries of
» How The West Can Be Won By Republicans - Big Government
The focus of American politics is often on the East Coast.  The interplay between Washington DC and the major media outlets on the East Coast often results in West Coast politics being as much as an afterthought as  college sports are to eastern writers.  This year, however, is different because the West features some of the highest profile races in the Country – races that can be won by Republicans. The races that are grabbing that attention – which attention is likely to grow – are: (1) the Nevada race for Senate pitting the Democrat Leader Harry Reid against newcomer and the Tea Party candidate Sharon Angle, (2) the ... market research, surveys and trends

Cashing in on conventions: new trends in the meetings industry ...
Mexico's on a roll as far as meetings are concerned. Analysts report an upsurge in business compared to the days when conventions barely squeaked by with decent returns. The government and private sector are pouring more money into infrastructure and the segment is looking good. "We are not only a leisure destination. But we have to prove that we are more than that," said Eduardo Chaillo, executive director of the Office of Congresses and Conventions at the Mexico Tourism Board's Chicago office, during a speech at the recent Third International Meetings Place Mexico convention in Merida. EnerNOC Returns 260% From Lowering Lights in 2009's Power Grid ...
Aug. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Donn Dresselhuys used to shake his head in disbelief every time he saw a utility’s meter reader trudge from house to house to record how much electricity people had used. The ritual demonstrated how the power industry had shunned innovation and changed little since the 1950s. Dresselhuys, a retired executive who had spent 30 years running a water purification company in Milwaukee, set out in 1995 to build a device that would enable meters to transmit data to utilities every hour, sending signals through the air much like mobile phones do. His tiny company soon confronted the realities of changing an ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

With a certain log of wood in hand and a booming economy, you get the feeling Southland could almost become the Farmers Republic of Southland. The FR.S for short. Obama criticizes Hoekstra on congressman's home turf
HOLLAND, Mich. -- President Obama took a shot at Rep. Pete Hoekstra during an event here Thursday, subtly taunting the Michigan Republican - who was seated in the front row - as among those who opposed the federal stimulus package but showed up at a groundbreaking ceremony funded by it. Obama welcomed Hoekstra during his opening remarks. At the same moment, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs sent a note to reporters pointing out Hoekstra as a "great quote opportunity!" in the audience. Hoekstra, who is running for Michigan governor, has been a vocal critic of the stimulus package. "There are some folks who ... market trends, news research and surveys resources

Why don't Canon/Epson/HP/Kodak release ink cartridges for each ...
While the technical challenge isn't exactly overwhelming, I believe the issue is that it's a business decision these organizations have made not to produce equipment that supports the products of competitors. If a competitor served to continue (or worse, even expand!) the marketshare enjoyed by HP, that would ultimately contract their own marketshare if the product is successful. The brand of these organizations revolves around producing equipment, not cartridges. Servicing competitors' equipment by producing compatible ink cartridges is a move that would ultimately prove self-defeating. Or so I would think. ...
