How do I report Employee Stock Purchase Plan income? - Yahoo! Answers
There is an amount in the Box 14 of W-2 form called DSQDSP, and I guess it is referring to income from my ESPP. I sold almost all my ESPP shares immediately after I purchased them, and it should be unqualified. Is the gain already added into the w-2 income? TurboTax does not know what is DSQDSP about. How do I calculate income in Schedule D? Shall I use the market price when the ESPP is purchased? Tax Law (Questions About Taxes): 1099-B Sale of Stock, employee ...
I misread some figures on the 1099-b.  Box 2 of the 1099-B totals $68.68 & represents the proceeds from the sale of the stock reported to the IRS and is a long term capital gain. Do I enter this figure as the sales price? Box 7 totals $24.82 & represents the net proceeds.  Does the difference between the two figures of $43.86 ($68.68-$24.82) represent the fees I paid? If so, do I add the $43.86 to the cost basis of the stock and subtract that total from the sales price to determine if it is a long term gain or loss?
